I wish I had thought about the name Miles when I had my son. I feel it's so warm and welcoming. Just for fun - what's people's opinions?

I just think of the measurement. You could have two brothers called Kilometres & Miles!

Lol 🤣
Despite this, I still really like it!

Love it.

My Myles is grown up now.

Yeah I see that, I think that's why people like the Myles spelling maybe?
It kind of sets it apart from that but obviously the sound doesn't change!

I think you are right and it might be why some people prefer that spelling.

I prefer that spelling, so it holds true for me.

It also seems to me to share rather too much DNA with Nigel, which I really don't like!

FluffMagnet · 18/06/2026 16:49

Love it!

I think of it as a bit upper-class, but I don't hate it.

My nephew is called that, really suits him. Nice name.

My immediate association would be that parents are marathon runners.

I don't see this at all haha. Please explain?

Miles was on our list. I love it and the idea of the nickname Milo!

It's the relatively short name with the long "i" being the only stressed vowel.

I just feel like Nige and Miles would be mates or brothers!

I like it. It’s a very old name. Google Miles Standish.

Butterflybluebell · 20/06/2026 10:58

I've never really loved DS's name, so sad we didn't name him better 🤣

There will be plenty of adult Milos in coming decades. I don't think it's unpopular at the moment and you could do worse.

I think Milo is more of a pet's name in my house though.

Milo is a chocolate bar / drink, very popular in Australia and I can't get passed that.
