Middle name for Aurora?

EllieFox11 · 03/04/2026 21:30

Hello!

Pregnant with our first baby girl due in May!!

We have decided to call her Aurora. My husband is Italian and it’s his grandmothers name so we love it.

We just need to decide on a middle name…

The names we have are:

Aurora Imogen
Aurora Violet

Which one do you think flows better? We adore them both so we are hoping for some opinions to help us decide?

Any alternative suggestions are welcome.

TYIA❤️

I think Imogen works better.

Borealis

You beat me to it.

My DD was originally going to be Imogen Aurora, we ended up deciding on a different first name but kept Aurora as her middle name. It’s beautiful as either a first or middle name.

I think Violet is also nice but I’d 110% choose Imogen

Screamingabdabz · 03/04/2026 21:39

You don’t have to have a middle name. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Overtheatlantic · 03/04/2026 21:40

Beatrice
Hermione

MauriceTheMussel · 03/04/2026 21:40

I like Imogen, but obvs it’s a vowel so does it make a word with your surname initial?

purpleme12 · 03/04/2026 21:41

They're both nice but I think I prefer Aurora Imogen

Mydogthewhippet · 03/04/2026 21:50

Aurora was on our list and so was Imogen and Violet!

We went for an ‘A’ name (not Aurora) and Violet as her middle name. I personally think Violet works better otherwise it’s a bit of a mouthful and vowel heavy. I think it flows better.

saying that they’re all gorgeous names so you can’t go wrong.

I never understand posters who do this 🤣

Borealis

😂

EvolvingDoor · 03/04/2026 22:11

Nora

or Dora

Or better still, "Aurora Nora Dora . . . "

WallaceinAnderland · 03/04/2026 22:17

Not Imogen as you have two vowels together and it doesn't roll off the tongue. I would go for a single syllable middle name such as Grace

Attictroll · 03/04/2026 22:21

Not v keen on either but if ds had been a girl he would have been Aurora Beatrix as we liked the hard end in the second name. Great choice of first name 😍

Ikeameatballs · 03/04/2026 22:23

Of the two Aurora Violet due to the double vowels of Aurora Imogen but I also like

Aurora Lucy
Aurora June
Aurora Ferne

AgentPidge · 03/04/2026 22:24

I don't think Imogen goes well with Aurora - they have a different vibe. Also Aurora Violet flows better than the a and I together that you get with Imogen.

RosesAndHellebores · 03/04/2026 22:31

Violet works better with Aurora.
Sophia does too.

RegalDiamondMonster · 03/04/2026 23:11

I thought Aurora Lucy before seeing the options.

Aurora Violet is better because of Aurora ending in a vowel and Imogen starting with one - it doesn't flow. I prefer Imogen as a name though.

LilyLemonade · 03/04/2026 23:13

I think Aurora Violet is easier to say, though Imogen is a lovely name.

But my suggestion would be Aurora Celeste.

Olderbutt · 03/04/2026 23:14

Violet works better!

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 03/04/2026 23:18

Violet. Just a great combination. Both from Latin.

UDontaskUDontget · 03/04/2026 23:21

I like Aurora Rose

Gloschick · 03/04/2026 23:23

I think Aurora Violet works better, although a full name is said so rarely that you may as well go with the name you like the most and not worry about flow.

Another idea would be Aurora May given her birth month.

Mumofgirls2017 · 04/04/2026 09:43

Aurora violet flows much nicer and sounds lovely

aurora juliet
aurora scarlett
aurora daisy
aurora lily
aurora willow
aurora phoebe
aurora florence
aurora jasmine

Mumzoo5070 · 04/04/2026 09:48
