i know there’s been threads like this done before I read some from 20 years ago when I was a kid myself. Obviously baby naming has changed a lot since then.
Because there will undoubtedly be someone who says this is mean spirited then this is your warning to not bother reading it.

I’m curious to see if my kids names come up because they did on a few of the old threads 😂. Comments from teachers especially welcome

Every Archie I know needs a stern talk!

I’m not going to give actually names, but I can tell you my swimming teacher colleague handed me two lists of names this morning. She said ‘which group do you want?’ I said ‘can I have the top group please this time’ and walked off with my list of names. It never occurred to either of us until afterwards that I’d never seen any of the kids swim.

As I said if it’s not your thing don’t read it, and nobody has mentioned any names that are typically used by certain ethnicities and I’ve read a few of these from older times and even then they didn’t

It's Hugo's parents that need a talking to 😂

honeylulu · 28/01/2026 12:12

I was going to say Jayden but there was one in my daughter's primary class who won a scholarship to a very prestigious public school (and he was super polite and well behaved) so what do I know!

One of my kids names has been mentioned on this thread already.

Aw I used to tutor a Chloe and she was a delight. I felt a bit bad taking her parents' money tbh as she would have passed her 11+ with or without my input, but her confidence definitely grew in the sessions.

The obnoxious Archies I know are indeed MC!

Naughtiness is not the preserve of the WC!

UrsulaBelle · 28/01/2026 12:17

I have only known 3, (I work in a large secondary) but Hector, OMG!

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 28/01/2026 12:20

My Dd’s name has been mentioned and she’d be absolutely mortified! She’s a stickler for the rules, very well behaved and hard working. The other names I agree with though….😁
