What are the current “naughty boy/girl” names?

i know there’s been threads like this done before I read some from 20 years ago when I was a kid myself. Obviously baby naming has changed a lot since then.
Because there will undoubtedly be someone who says this is mean spirited then this is your warning to not bother reading it.

I’m curious to see if my kids names come up because they did on a few of the old threads 😂. Comments from teachers especially welcome

I work in a nursery and can agree with a lot of these.

Here's my Archie and he's definitely big trouble

You are joking????
Bastien???

I think Archie’s are trouble
Archibolds less so, as with that stupid full name they can’t be such a bully

Archibold has hardly been used.

Dgll · 28/01/2026 13:38

Vladimir

NoSoapJustUseShowerGel · 28/01/2026 13:38

Anything with a krayzee spelling.

nam3c4ang3 · 28/01/2026 13:39

Balonz 🙈😂. Here the Maximilians and Hugo get into problems. Defo Hectors (one bit my child’s arm and wouldn’t let go!)

SemperIdem · 28/01/2026 13:40

No, not joking. I know some rather bratty Bastiens.

Doesn't mean there aren't some that are lovely. Tendencies don't work absolutely and there will be lots of exceptions, of course.

I wonder slightly, though, if name choices don't sometimes link at some level to parenting styles, which I think is why these threads can be interesting and useful to parents considering names for their baby.

I have always wanted my dc to have solid, traditional names with a bit of elegance but that don't stand out a mile. I am always stunned by the people on these threads who are determined to have a name that will make their dc stand out. Does that spill over into rather entitled behaviour? Or does a traditional name choice signal a parent who lacks respect for their child's individuality. Or is individuality something that doesn't need to be worn on your sleeve (or name badge)? They are interesting questions.

Kayden

Any of the made up sounding names like Jaylon or Kavon. They’re always little shits.

I went to school with a lovely Kayvon. He had Iranian heritage, so he had an Iranian name.

AKA 'What particular class or ethnic prejudices are you happy to share on this thread?'

And a few posts from yours someone says Archie doesn't fit because it's a middle class name. It didn't even take long!

Archibold has hardly been used.

I've only heard Archibald.

Or Arcimboldo, the artist .

Hang your head in shame and beat your child(ren) for this travesty.

I think class has nothing to do with naughtiness whatsoever.

But name choice might. There are lots of posh names, lots of MC names and lots of WC names, and lots of choices within names of all nationalities.

I do think it must be very hard to get a read on name choice outside your own nationality unless you have lived in a different culture a long time.

Turdd · 28/01/2026 13:45

@Calliopespa one of my DCs names has been mentioned and also my elderly mothers name…

Secondary teacher here. While names often reflect social backgrounds, they rarely indicate any behavioural disposition. I teach poorly behaved children from all backgrounds, rude and disrespectful from all backgrounds. While I may personally dislike some names, I judge them on behaviour and attitude instead and I would hope that any other teacher does.

mumoronegirl · 28/01/2026 13:47

I work in secondary school, these are th current names I associate with poor behaviour/attitude. Lewi, Zach, Ayaan, Josh, Charlie, Eesa, Subhaan, Harry, Jacob, Habeeb, Layla, Isabelle, Holly, Lottie,

Turdd · 28/01/2026 13:48

Idk that there are even different classes of names. The biggest scruffamuffins I know have kids called Hugo and Annabelle (often said to be upper class names) then I know actual posh parents with a kaiden.

Personally I’m very low class and my kids just have ordinary names

What an absolutely horrible thread.

Brightandblustery · 28/01/2026 13:48

In my experience (ex teacher), I sighed when I saw a class full of names like Kayden, Jayden, Hayden, Kyle, Finley, Ryan and (the worst) Harvey. Just realised they all have a Y in them???

Girls names that filled me with dread were Jade, Layla, Lea and Scarlet.
