What are the current “naughty boy/girl” names?

i know there’s been threads like this done before I read some from 20 years ago when I was a kid myself. Obviously baby naming has changed a lot since then.
Because there will undoubtedly be someone who says this is mean spirited then this is your warning to not bother reading it.

I’m curious to see if my kids names come up because they did on a few of the old threads 😂. Comments from teachers especially welcome

I know two delightful Archie's and a lovely Chloe! Variety of classes and races involved there not that that should matter.

There is one name which has been mentioned repeatedly here which feels very validating as we know one who made DS's life an absolute misery for years. Genuinely hear the name Ronnie and shudder. His parents were equally vile/entitled and their names are also here, and their daughter too though she was still v little so can't say it's compelling evidence 😂 Coincidence/whatever it's called when you search for the evidence that supports your own theory....is running strong today!

Finn/Finley/Finlay - with 'naughty' names, I've taught enough children over the years to know of at least 1 exception to the name. I can't think of a single Finley variation that is reliably well-behaved.

India - always a precocious stage school charmer

Ah, the Kray brothers! I think the four you propose have been bad boy names since the beginning of time . . .

Round here Archie is a very upper middle class name, def not one I would put on that list!

Round here all the posh upper middle class kids never get told off by their parents (except maybe a 'don't do that darling' in a pleading tone) so they do indeed tend to be naughty little fuckers.

miniaturepixieonacid · 28/01/2026 13:01

I never understand how popular names like Jack, Chloe, Lily, Sophia and Archie can meet any criteria list - I have taught dozend of children with these names so the obviously range from the absolutely delightful to the seriously hard work.

Same with less common names too, to a certain extent. This year, I'd definitely agree with Hugo (3 of them - all a pain). But last year I had 2 wonderful Hugos so it wouldn't have come close to any list. Currently teaching 2 Jaydens - 1 beautifully behaved, 1 definitely not. Only ever taught 1 Reggie but he's adorable so goees against the listing on here. And so on. It's just weird to me how anyone, especially someone like a teacher who meets hundreds of children, is able to link particular behaviour, skills etc to a name that doesn't just belong to one person.

When my DC were at school, it was the Jakes and Adams who were the naughty ones.
Lauras in each of my DC's classes were mean girls. I had only ever met lovely Lauras before that.

No! I just think of Frank Spencer or thermals…

MumtoGPW · 28/01/2026 13:03

When i saw the title I instantly thought of my dc3 name, he isn't naughty infact is the most layed back child ever and even as a teenager still no issues (waiting till he hits uni)! But its a running joke that every one with his name is naughty.
When dc 1 was at school every Euan and Harry were naughty.
Dc2 and 3 would probably agree with some of the names mentioned on here- but Archie, Sienna, Izzy and Hugo would be top of the list.

Allsigns · 28/01/2026 13:03

@Poppingby right?! I went as a.day scholar to a boarding school for a while (thanks to her majestys armed forces) and then to a regular primary. Wouldn't say how much money you have is any barrier to bad behaviour at all! Thought guess it can mean you can tell people where to go in a more eloquent fashion 😂

Ooops - I may have got confused with a large construction company

JollyTallGiraffe · 28/01/2026 13:04

Years ago we had an “Angel” in the next street… she was certainly not as her name implied. She once followed me into my house after a dog walk and sat herself down. Refused to leave, so had to take her home😳 Found out later that she would roam and follow random people home. Aged 8…

We have a little boy by us who is also a “roamer” and there are frequent searches for him. He’s not school age yet. 😱
Famous for going into peoples gardens, taking things and piddling. Police have brought him home several times yet nothing is done.

Leyak · 28/01/2026 13:06

Oliver

JuliettaCaeser · 28/01/2026 13:06

Never met a nice Grace (child) or Jacqui (adult).

Every girl or woman with either of these names that I have come across have been actively horrible.

My bully was an Angela. Quite the mean girl then. I hope for her sake she's grown wiser and nicer over the years.

NamingNoNames · 28/01/2026 13:12

Round here Archie is a dog's name, and it will be a poodle-cross, as will Ruby and Bella.

The names that give me 'naughty boy' vibes are surnames as first names, names starting with J or K, or are variant spellings/pronunciations of names from other languages (e.g. Jayden, Dylan).

The names of actual naughty boys though are ones are not these. They are names like Noah, Alfie, Albie, Raphael, Vincent and David. The naughty ones are often 'gently parented'.

.

ImALittlePea · 28/01/2026 13:12

In my DS's class, 90% of the arsehole bullies naughty boys names begin with a J or a soft G.

Funny that some of the names mentioned upthread are the names of the nicest kids where we are, too.

Why, though?

Any of the made up sounding names like Jaylon or Kavon. They’re always little shits.

What a horrible post. 😡

Thatcannotberight · 28/01/2026 13:17

Jayden and Dylan at my son's school. Although Mia got excluded, permanently.
