I think it is. I'd be mortified if I was named that.

It's a surname isn't it?

gemmaandthegerbils · 09/11/2025 09:34

You mean as a first name? Do you know a baby called this?

LuigiGhostDog · 09/11/2025 09:34

Yes it’s ridiculous. I really hope if a parent wanted to name their child that, the registry office wouldn’t allow it.

GlassofRosePorfavor · 09/11/2025 09:35

Yes

Ridiculous name, but I don't think this falls under the reasons a name can be refused in the UK. I got this list from the deed poll office website:

Are impossible to pronounce

Include numbers, symbols, or punctuation marks (not including hyphens or apostrophes)

Are considered offensive, vulgar, or blasphemous by the deed poll service

Fraudulent (inferring the child has a rank, title, or inherited honor)

Yes

Child Abuse

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 09/11/2025 10:00

I think Walt was quite happy with it.

Someone very close to me has this as a first name. She’s in her 20s now…

Like Cameron, Lindsay, or Taylor? It's very common for surnames to be used as first names, although not all surnames are as famous as Disney.

Skybluepinky · 09/11/2025 10:38

Yes dreadful.

Yes. Well, she's 2.

How did Tyson Fury and Katie Price manage to register their kids going by the last sentence?

Not remotely Scottish.

Why are you putting some poor child's name up for ridicule? She's two. It's her name.

It was a joke.

Great name in Scotland, depending on surname

Disney - have any class
Disney - give a Fcuk
Disney - have a clue.

SwirlyShirly · 09/11/2025 12:31

It’s a nice name for a cat but not as a first name for a person

My first thought too. I also know a guy called Earl.

Thank you! 😄. It was a bit of a tumbleweed moment though...

The parents are the ridiculous ones.

Child is already born and named and not yours, and you clearly have an opinion on it, so why are you asking?

NerdyBird · 09/11/2025 13:06

I’m surprised Disney haven’t sued for trademark infringement or some such!
