I love it, but… it will get Percy Pig comments I’m afraid!

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 28/04/2025 21:48

Lord Percy?

Daisy12Maisie · 28/04/2025 21:48

You can’t because of M and S and the Percy Pigs.

DastardlyPigeon · 28/04/2025 21:49

No.

JoyousEagle · 28/04/2025 21:49

Since you’ve asked, personally I think it’s awful.

But whatever name you pick, you’ll get a mix of opinions. I’m sure plenty of people don’t like the names my DDs have.

ReaganLockWood · 28/04/2025 21:50

CONTEXT

I highly dislike the name personally (Percy Pig, Percy Pervert) however, my DB and DSIL are thinking of calling their baby it.

I want to see general consensus, and if it’s just me being negative or if others also dislike the name!

Yeah, he's going to be known as Percy Pig. Fingers crossed he isn't fat.

DGPP · 28/04/2025 21:50

Don’t like it at all

Lonelycrab · 28/04/2025 21:51

No

CalypsoCuthbertson · 28/04/2025 21:52

Percy the Park keeper is lovely! But no, it’s too old for a baby

HScully · 28/04/2025 21:52

I love it, such a shame about thr pig connection

Moreteaandchocolate · 28/04/2025 21:54

I think it could grow on me if it wasn’t for the Percy pig thing.

BooksAndHooks · 28/04/2025 21:54

I love the name, but I don’t think I could use it now with the Percy Pig connection.

DuckieDodgyHedgyPiggy · 28/04/2025 21:54

Well it's another name for a willy so for that reason I think it's a bit cruel to inflict it on a child. It is a sweet name though.

Naughtynorma · 28/04/2025 21:54

I think it’s dreadful. Fine for a dog or a peacock though.

Whatisityoucantface · 28/04/2025 21:56

Pig
Lord
Weasley
Jackson

no!

IDipYouDipWeDip · 28/04/2025 21:57

I think it’s awful, truly awful. I can’t imagine looking at your beautiful newborn and thinking ‘yes, he’s definitely a Percy’.

Blackcountrychik83 · 28/04/2025 22:00

Years ago when my kids were little , late teens now , I remember talking to a Mum in Tesco , little boy in the trolley and I asked his name … Percy …
I wanted to laugh coz I honestly thought she was having me on .
Back then the old man names hadn’t made a come back yet . It was way too soon for Percy

and now I still think we ain’t ready for the comeback of Percy it’s dreadful .

Blackcountrychik83 · 28/04/2025 22:02

I just kept seeing Percy the tank engine chugging along as I carried on doing my shopping just thinking how cruel someone has to be to put that name on a poor little boy.

Bournetilly · 28/04/2025 22:02

It would be ok if it wasn’t for Percy pigs.

HomeTutor · 28/04/2025 22:06

My pony is called Percy.

We sing 'Fat Percy horse, going off to war, have you been mistaken for a taaaaaank' over and over.

He is fat.

It's a no from me.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 28/04/2025 22:07

How about Perseus, nickname Percy

pilates · 28/04/2025 22:08

Isn’t it another name for a todger?

Elektra1 · 28/04/2025 22:10

Have to have a strong character to throw off the Percy Pig jibes, unfortunately. Other than that I think it’s a nice name.

Not a bad idea. Percy/Percival as a given name sounds effete and silly IMO.
