I don't like Evelyn or Clara and Etta seems unfinished, so that only leaves Eleanor, but I'm not keen on that either. You have months to decide.

bluebunnys · 15/01/2025 20:19

I like Etta best!

The others are very popular and a little overused imo

shoopshoopdedoo · 15/01/2025 20:20

Eleanor, definitely!
Evelyn (pronunciation issues) and Clara (v popular, and a bit sickly sweet for me) are OK
Not keen on Etta unless as a nickname

amber763 · 15/01/2025 20:20

I love Evelyn. Also heard the name Elodie today and loved that too.

Chuchoter · 15/01/2025 20:23

Eleanor
Clara
Etta
Evelyn

Not keen on any of them.

I like Eloise if you like E names.

Firsttimebabymummy · 15/01/2025 20:39

Clara is my favourite

user2848502016 · 15/01/2025 20:39

I really like Clara
Eleanor is a timeless classic with lots of options for nicknames

The other two I'm not as keen, Etta feels more like a nickname to me and I think it will become dated.
Evelyn I just don't like the sound of personally although I know it's popular at the moment.

NameChangedOfc · 15/01/2025 20:53

Clara 💖

Moreteaandchocolate · 15/01/2025 20:56

All are nice, my order of preference would be-

  1. Clara - one of my faves - simple, classy, suits all ages
  2. Evelyn - popular for a reason - suits all ages, nice nn’s. Loads of Eve type names about but I do know a teen Evelyn who doesn’t shorten her name too.
  3. Eleanor - classy, nice nn’s, but there have been so many Ellie’s over the last decade or two!
  4. Etta - getting more popular, but not overused, sounds a bit like “ate a”. I do still like it though.
Viviennemary · 15/01/2025 21:04

Eleanor. Etta is awful. Other two fine.

TinyMouseTheatre · 15/01/2025 21:11

I like them all but think that Evelyn might get shortened to Evie and there are roughly, at a conservative estimate, 50 billion Evie's just in our town alone.

Aglassaday · 15/01/2025 21:37

All lovely OP!
Eleanor- pretty but I think a bit overused, I know dozens of Ellie’s
Clara- I love
Etta- I really love this one, heard of but not too unique, sweet spot
Evelyn- not a fan I can’t lie, just seems a bit drab and overused. I do really like Evelina or Evie though!

what are your thoughts on them OP?

Beachs · 15/01/2025 21:49

not crazy on any of them if I’m honest.

what about Emme, Edith or Erin

Abbiepriestman · 15/01/2025 22:00

I also have evalina on my list but my partner isnt as sure on it hes more traditional with names i have an elaia already and that was a push lol x

Etta!

fabricstash · 15/01/2025 22:17

Love Evelyn! I also love Evangeline but that's because I love the song The Mother by Brandie carlile - however I only had ( lovely) boys

DramaAlpaca · 15/01/2025 22:18

Clara, for sure.

Newsenmum · 15/01/2025 22:19

Not Evelyn

Etta and Elaia is lovely.

minipie · 15/01/2025 22:27

If you have an Elaia I think that rules out Eleanor, too similar.

Evelyn and Clara would be my picks. Not so keen on Etta for the harsh sound.

Evelina is a lot more traditional than Elaia imo so maybe you can persuade your partner.

Other ideas: Eva, Cara, Clarissa, Carla, Cora, Eden/Edie, Adeline, Emmeline, Emilia.

Fontainebleau007 · 15/01/2025 22:32

Evelyn is lovely

NotMeekNotObedient · 15/01/2025 22:57

Clara, or... June?

Clara, or... June?

I really like June.

Emanwenym · 16/01/2025 07:35

As someone with a month name, don't use June.

popular for a reason - the reason for popularity is fashion.
It's usually shortened to Evie.

Hoping yours isn't April. I used to work with one many years ago and the number of Ape jokes that came her way was awful.
