Thoughts on the name Briar-Rebecca, I have an incredibly boring name and am surrounded by siblings with unique names they love!
I think briar is beautiful and Rebecca is nice and classic if preferred could be used.
interested in others thoughts.
thanks

Brimberley?

No. Just no.

Like both names but together, it's 3 syllables too many 😀

Onthefence87 · 09/01/2025 22:20

I personally really dislike both, sorry OP.
Briar makes me think of a thorn, or briar rose (sleeping beauty) I just think it sounds quite harsh sounding and old fashioned.
Rebecca, maybe not too bad on its own but quite dated now (I'm in mid 30s and school was full of them)

Each to their own though, but if you did use Briar then I would use it as a standalone name and go for a one syllable middle name.

Or Rebecca (which I personally prefer) as a first name then a 1 or 2 syllable middle name (I don't think it would ever work with Briar though)

How about Briar May, Briar Blessed or Briar Cox?

battairzeedurgzome · 10/01/2025 01:15

Too many syllables.

As first and middle name - nice. Hyphenated - hard no.

Rosebeds · 26/01/2025 11:46

Dislike both these names, and they sound bad together.
