Baby due Jan 2025. Already have a girl's name picked - don't want to say what as it's too outing if anyone knows me on here, it's an unusual rarely used name but lovely and everyone we've told really likes it and we are very happy with it.

We can't agree on a boy's name at all. I already have a DS (previous partner) with quite an unusual name but still in the top 100 but my DH definitely likes more "out there" names!
Give me your favourite unique boy names for inspiration please! We've looked at thousands of names on lists and just can't find one we like for a boy whatsoever. I know we have plenty of time (and might not even have a boy) but with my son I had his name picked before I was ever even pregnant so I'm struggling not knowing!

I hated my name growing up as you can imagine candy has a lot of name calling!! but now love it as I'm different to everyone else. I wanted to call my boy Axl but my partner hates it so please feel free to get it out there!!!

KarenandFour · 12/08/2024 08:09

My ex called his son Atticus

Working in a school there are parents who are disappointed when their child joins another child with the same name, the children are always delighted though!

I remember hating my name as it was quite rare at the time (I was the only one in my school until my final year). When I met people outside school I would pretend my name was Susan (a common name at the time). It's much more common now.

The most unusual boy's name I've encountered recently are:

Peculiar
Bear
Era
Gille

There are many other names from different countries which are unusual in the uk so you may want to research these for more ideas.

Good luck with finding a name that suits your child and you are both happy with.

Ezekiel is one of the main characters in Walking Dead.
Good choice :)

Obviously I'd heard the name before I watch TWD but this is one of the reasons why I like the name so much

From kids show Stuck in the middle, they have a boy called Beast, really growing on me. I like the name Columba after the saint.
Culadha an Irish name pronounced coo-ul-ahh.

Beast? Sounds like a porno actor but ok... 😂😂😂😂

For God’s sake think of the poor child, some of these suggestions are pure child abuse!!!!

What about a place name that's only relevant to your family?

Before ‘Walking Dead’ Ezekiel is in the Bible.

Deboragh · 12/08/2024 09:51

Some of these suggestions are awful, it's a child, a human being, not a fucking plaything,or a budgie, may as well call it Tradgediegh

SuspiciouslyMinded · 12/08/2024 10:04

Look at Elon Musk's kids' names for inspiration. It doesn't get crazier than that. "X Æ A-Xii" is already taken, but "X Æ A-Xiii" is still available.

BunnyLake · 12/08/2024 10:12

You’re not naming a pet dog here, this is going to be a child and then a man, you need to take these things into consideration. Some of the suggestions are mind boggling but that’s what you asked for I suppose.

How is that pronounced? I guess when your dad is the richest person in the world no one expects them to name their child Alan but it wouldn’t work well in the real world. He’ll be twenty before he can spell his name without having to google it first!

There was a Wolfgang in my class back in the 60s which seemed pretty out there for a bog standard primary school.

AgileGreenSeal · 12/08/2024 10:19

I like Faolán “little wolf” pronounced Feelawn.

or

Séaghdha “learned” pronounced Shay

DadToTwoBoys · 12/08/2024 10:20

Just to add to the list
