Need the most unusual/out there boys names you can think of

Baby due Jan 2025. Already have a girl's name picked - don't want to say what as it's too outing if anyone knows me on here, it's an unusual rarely used name but lovely and everyone we've told really likes it and we are very happy with it.

We can't agree on a boy's name at all. I already have a DS (previous partner) with quite an unusual name but still in the top 100 but my DH definitely likes more "out there" names!
Give me your favourite unique boy names for inspiration please! We've looked at thousands of names on lists and just can't find one we like for a boy whatsoever. I know we have plenty of time (and might not even have a boy) but with my son I had his name picked before I was ever even pregnant so I'm struggling not knowing!

Does he know the implications of Lazarus op? In the Bible he was a man who was dead but was brought back from the dead ,

Admittedly it’s seem as a miracle by Christians so positive in that sense; but nonetheless is calling your baby after a revived corpse creepy?

Oh back from dead?

Every time you enter room. It would get very tiresome very fast.

The implications of Nero are worse than Lazarus surely! Incest and murder and corruption and so on...

Yes op I think you need to start thinking through the meanings. These are old names but there are reasons they haven’t been used down the years. It’s not fair to a child to give a name with negative associations.

My cousin is called Ptolemy ("Tol" for short). He's never had a problem with it.

I reckon you could probably get away with Vespasian.

These are all genuine nicknames of Thai actors ( used alongside their 'official' names. ) Actually there is a reason behind the names-for example parents wanting a child to be studious might choose the name Book. also there is a belief that choosing nicknames will confuse the spirits and keep them away from the child.

My advice is you don't want an 'out there name'. The poor kid will be ridiculed at school. An outthere name won't make people think you're cool, just silly.

Wordsofprey · 11/08/2024 18:49

Breeze
Otis
Lars
Stanis
Marshall
Lance
Lucian
Zander
Ezro
Donnis
Romas
Riker
Ash

Side note to say I think Lazarus is really nice. Laz is a pretty normal nickname, Larry, Russ. It's not really weird or anything if you're thinking that

All made up, but you get the gist.

McKean
Dexter
Baxter
Quinn
Finn

Just be careful with very unusual names as too out there and they may not thank you. Maybe give them a couple of more ordinary middle names as well.

Just saw someone suggested Rex. That’s a great name and one I considered for my son.
