Aviary - like the bird house

RedHelenB · 25/06/2024 15:31

Makes me think caged brds/ American in that order.

Jujubeez · 25/06/2024 15:33

Reminds me of Charlotte's Web. It's a brave choice for a British girls name.

SoupDragon · 25/06/2024 15:35

I know one. it grew on me after a while.

My problem was that I had a dog bowl that said "A very good dog" on it but the spacing looked like Avery. I'd always thought it would be a good name for a dog before I knew a human one 😂

I love it!!

Sundaysunshine21 · 25/06/2024 15:57

all the Averys I’ve heard of are American. I’ve never met one in real life, I don’t hate it. I think it’s quite strong sounding but pretty at the same time.

DramaAlpaca · 25/06/2024 16:04

Labels here too, followed by aviary. It's a strong dislike, sorry.

Exx · 25/06/2024 16:06

I your surname Avery too? My Aunt Maud was Mrs Avery...

AlliumLake · 25/06/2024 16:07

It’s a brand of weighing scales.

VincentVanGoth · 25/06/2024 16:07

Greys anatomy

muddyford · 25/06/2024 16:08

My best friend has that as her surname.
I don't like it as a given name.

I love it, has a pretty sound to it.

MichaelFabricantsSyrup · 25/06/2024 16:11

It's a boys name as in Avery Arable.
Or a surname.

Blouson · 25/06/2024 16:14

Bit of an androgynous name

Notquitegrownup2 · 25/06/2024 16:16

I really like it. Pretty, unusual without sounding 'made up'

I used to know someone known as unsavoury avery. I couldn't not hear that, I am afraid.

Whitewolf2 · 25/06/2024 16:18

Hot guy in Greys Anatomy (though think it was his surname!). I agree with others it’s very American sounding to me, not sure if this is any issue though!

Oh! You're right! It is about 40 years since I read it to my daughter. 🤣

A no from me. Makes me think of Steven Avery - Netflix doc.
