Does it give any specific impressions? I would appreciate your opinions.

To me it's a boy's name (eg Morgan Freeman).

Chersfrozenface · 22/05/2024 18:18

I think "That's a boy's name". I'm from Wales, where it most definitely is.

JimNast · 22/05/2024 18:18

I don't like it for a girl. It's a nice surname.

HandShoe · 22/05/2024 18:19

To me it’s a surname thanks to watching Dexter, but sounds good for a girl

BoobyDazzler · 22/05/2024 18:19

I’ve always thought it’s a lovely name ❤️

ItsVeryHyacinthBucket · 22/05/2024 18:20

Morgan makes me think of the 90s clothing brand, all tight black sparkly going out dresses. Bit of a chavvy name either boy or girl.

TennisBowl · 22/05/2024 18:20

We have a Morgan in our school and she is lovely

PossumintheHouse · 22/05/2024 18:20

Another vote for it's a boy's name.
The now defunct female clothes shop also popped into my head.

CountingCrones · 22/05/2024 18:21

American, probably stage-school brat. (I've only known two female Morgans and both were young 'performers')

loropianalover · 22/05/2024 18:22

I see it as a girls name although I know of Morgan Freeman etc.

I like it!

Muthaofcats · 22/05/2024 18:22

Not appealing sorry

FriedGold · 22/05/2024 18:23

I think of Morgan from Cheer on Netflix - a talented American cheerleader who is female

EveSix · 22/05/2024 18:28

Morgan Fairchild of 80s American TV fame.

What do you think when you hear Morgan on a girl?

Not if you're in Wales and naming a boy. Don't be a snob.

Isitchill · 22/05/2024 18:33

The best going out out clothes shop ever.

happybluefern · 22/05/2024 18:33

i think of Morgan le fay from the King Arthur story and I like it for that reason.

ArcticBells · 22/05/2024 18:35

The parents must be American. Same as Taylor for a girl. All very American

Wasn't she Morgana?

Depends on the version, there’s variations of Morgaine/Morgana/Morgan. . I’m assuming Morwen and Morven also come from the same root although could be wrong.

Bemusedandconfusedagain · 22/05/2024 18:40

90s clubbing gear and American horses

GoBonobo · 22/05/2024 18:42

I know a couple of female Morgan’s (mid-late teen age) so not common, but not totally unheard of either, both are lovely, hardworking girls and I like the name (but I generally quite like unisex names) . One was shortened to ‘Morg’ by her BF which I don’t think she was thrilled about, so you might want to think about nickname options.

TheCultureHusks · 22/05/2024 18:42

Boys name, or possibly Americana - like Taylor.

However I know a Morgaine and that’s lovely.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 22/05/2024 18:43

I know 2 Morgans and both are girls
So tbh I think of it as a girls name.

Chersfrozenface · 22/05/2024 18:44

PoppingTomorrow · 22/05/2024 18:36

Wasn't she Morgana?

Or Morgane or Morgaine or various other Latinised or Frenchified versions of Morgen, the original Welsh or Breton name.

Twiglets1 · 22/05/2024 18:44

Yes I think "chav" sorry if that isn't what you want to hear but I'm being honest.
