Does it give any specific impressions? I would appreciate your opinions.

@NetZeroZealot , I've never heard of it, do you have the recipe?

It's made with leeks and Caerphilly cheese.

JimNast · 23/05/2024 08:48

Sounds delicious. I've heard of Glanmorgan sausages

I’ve never met a male one. I knew a little girl called Morgan when I was a child so she’d be nearly 40 now; lived in a massive house in Chelsea and was nicknamed Mopsy. And my (Welsh) tutor in Eng Lit at university had a daughter called Morgan who must now be about 30. So definitely not chavvy in my experience, and I don’t think of it as part of the surname and first name trend, which I don’t generally like. I think of it as a strong name for a girl, and think it suits a girl better than a boy.

Morgan Fairchild of 80s American TV fame.

This is the first thing that came to my mind.

JoniBlue · 23/05/2024 09:37

I think of actress Morgan Fairchild.

Walkingtheplank · 23/05/2024 09:55

Morgan Fairchild = 80s glamour?

whyhavetheygotsomany · 23/05/2024 10:27

Not keen

Toastjusttoast · 23/05/2024 10:37

I don’t think it makes an amazing girls name to be honest. It’s a boys name and a surname. If you shorten it it’s morgue. There are so many better options to name a baby girl.

having said that you can’t please everyone.

Chersfrozenface · 23/05/2024 11:23

The traditional diminutive of the male name Morgan in Wales is Moc.

SallyWD · 23/05/2024 11:23

I don't like it whether it's for girls or boys

JimNast · 23/05/2024 11:24

I hear Morg(ue) and Organ.
M Fairchild has been mentioned a few times but there was M. Brittany as well, and I think that the surname and beautiful actresses helped make the name seem more attractive. Also, the association with the clothes brand.

Morgan Nast, for example, doesn't sound particularly like a girl or woman, more like a company name.

I think "That's a boy's name". I'm from Wales, where it most definitely is.

Yeah my first thought would be, ‘Her parents aren’t Welsh’ 😂

Exactly - the same inspiring ingredient combo but in a different shape.

timoteigirl · 23/05/2024 21:16
