In school what was the girl with in the - your mind - prettiest name

This is somewhat inspired by the resurrected prettiest girls name you know thread.

I wondered when you went to school what was the girl with the name you likes the most called?

I didnt grow up in the UK but for me her name was Karina. I thought her name was so pretty and unusual (it's a fairly normalish name for my generation in Denmark think top 50-100) but oh I had name.envy. grew out of it and Karina never even entered the consideration for my own children.😁

Pamela.
It was everything I wanted in a name and she was very nice as well.
Not sooo keen on it now.

Jacqueline, never Jackie, from infant school. Long swishy dark hair and a fur (probably rabbit 🤮) coat....

Anastasia : she was very pretty and she married an investment banker.

We , and few from school, meet up when she's in the UK. Thing is she's hardly changed, where as the rest of us are old hags.

You'd have thought she had the perfect life but her husband is Jewish and they have to have personal security. She told me that she wasn't coming back to the UK any time soon but would met us in Berlin. How ironic.

Katie. Pretty name and pretty girl

I think some of the 70s names are due a revival- Lisa, Louise, Claire, Michelle are probably some of the prettiest.

There was a study a couple of years ago that confirmed Pamela was the "happiest" name. Pamelas in general felt high life satisfaction at any rate! I know a very nice Pam.

Chantelle. We thought it was extremely ‘exotic’ at the time (many many decades ago). Funny how things change as now this would be considered quite a ‘cringe’ name where I live.

Anita, who was in my class in the last year of primary.

She was beautiful, too; with pale skin, long, slightly wavy strawberry-blonde hair and greeny blue eyes.

Everyone fancied her and she just seemed to cool and ethereal to me.

Now I think Florence but at the time I didn't, plus Flo was the roughest of rough girls you could ever imagine possible. Think Bernard Manning crossed with Pat Butcher and that's still not rough enough for dear Florence

I was at primary school with an Irene (pronounced with three syllables). I think it has a beautiful romantic sound.

It was only in my 20s that I realised that there was a different pronunciation with two syllables.
I think that has a very boring sound (along with names like Eileen, Maureen and Doreen).

I considered Irene as a name for my older daughter and would have loved to use it, but I didn't want her to have a lifetime of having to correct people's pronunciation so it came off the shortlist.

Given that I love Irene you'd think I might like Karina too. However it will forever associated with someone I didn't like at secondary school, so I don't.

Fleur. She was (is still I imagine) beautiful like her name, with stunning long red hair. 70s London

Sasha

Sisters Mariana and Adriana (both beautiful in name and nature. They were from what was then Yugoslavia).

And Midori- despite her name, there were no melon liqueur jokes ever. I still love her name.

I think my name was the most unusual lol. We had multiple Angelas, Lisa's, Claire’s, Laura’s… A Judith which I loved the most. A few Lucy’s too which I always think is a lovely name.

I also loved Trish, and was always Trish when DSis and I played "grown up games". She was Jane.
