2 baby boy twins, Ace and Atlas. I love that tbh

The only Atlas I ever met was a chihuahua. They also had a Great Dane called Nugget 😂😂

Twins - Chardonnay and Merlot. Was 20 years ago, mother wasn't British though

orangegato · 19/01/2024 12:56

@stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk this child was named BECAUSE of the films. I think I don’t like it as it’s a friend’s dog’s name.

All2Well · 19/01/2024 12:56

Oh yes, and Leaf and Deja!

cliffdiver · 19/01/2024 12:57

Strawberry.

Because her mum craved strawberries whilst pregnant, apparently..

ruralwanderer · 19/01/2024 12:57

I take it back - you can all stop quoting me (as I'm getting no work done due to notifications lol!) Ignatius is NOT random. It's a delightful, common name and I'll never mention it again Wink

Here we go... bear in mind I have a 20 year teaching career so have encountered some interesting names...

Rock
Wednesday
Auburn
Tuesday Blue
Indigo
Xevia
Aspidistra
A female colleague called John (dad drunk when he registered her, forgot he'd had a daughter so gave the name he was going to give a boy, refused to change it out of sheer stubborness)
Apple Tang
Vanilla
Peaches
Lorry
Miami
Cuba
Avila (but I love this name)
Vienetta
Tygga
James Tiberius Kirk
Anakin
Leia Skywalker
Luv-Anna
The tiniest boy in Year 7 "Horatio"
Armstrong (also love this as he was a preemie who wasn't expected to live and was left with lifelong neurological illness so they wanted to give him an aspirational name after both Lance and Neil)
Khaleesi (x 7)
Wolfric
Buzz
Lemonie (misheard on a greek holiday)
A recent five year old "Alan Carr"
Lady Bianca (at a private school, we thought she was officially titled but it turned out she was named after her grandads dog)
A very white red headed northern child named Moesha after the TV show
Ronaldo
Rooney
Beckham
Ferguson
Cantona (girl)
Middle name - Chelsea FC also a girl
Sibset, Honey, Cherry and Currie

And...on to the shamelessly alcohol inspired names...

Remi Brandie
Jack Daniel
Johnny Walker
Tia Maria
Malibu (ahhh, like the beach? "No, miss like Malibu n Coke")
Boddington (my grandad loved Boddingtons beers and he loved me just as much, miss)
Moet
Chandon
Lanson
Cristalle
Asti

Oddly the name that got my back up the most was Oceana Blu.

I also know a little boy whi has Tiberius as a middle name

bessytedsy · 19/01/2024 12:58

Friends dh is called Fox & in his 40s although I know it’s become more popular for dc now. He has a very well paid role in a bank.

sharptoothlemonshark · 19/01/2024 12:58

No you didn't. This is an urban myth and racist to boot BiscuitAngry

Yup, we have had a La-a. In our work as well. So. It is true, sadly.
Ps.
They were white, is that still racist?

runbackhome · 19/01/2024 13:03

I love some of these names so much and am wishing I was braver when naming mine!

I know a Bowie, a Fox, and a Pixie. None of them siblings or even know each other but very cool names.

Ratfur · 19/01/2024 13:03

I taught a Cool Rembrandt

SealHouse · 19/01/2024 13:04

highdaysandholudays · 19/01/2024 11:59

@ruralwanderer Ignatius is an old Irish name. It's great. I went out with a guy called Ignatius when I was a teenager

Ignatius is not an old Irish name. It is a latin name, or of latin origin. There is a (Spanish) catholic saint called Ignatius/Ignacio, which is probably why the name was popular in (catholic) Ireland. It is much less common nowadays.

BiliousOhGod · 19/01/2024 13:04

I did my A-levels (decades ago) with a Sean. Pronounced "Seen".

I have family which lives overseas, and some of the kids' names would be odd in the UK, but are fine locally, however, family in the UK has kids called Sam and Ella. On purpose.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 19/01/2024 13:04

Mortality, but that was on a waiter’s name badge in Nigeria decades ago.

All2Well · 19/01/2024 13:05

@Sonora25 I've known a few Tiberiuses,
it's more that James Tiberius Kirk is such a shameless Star Trek reference!

TheLadyIsAVamp · 19/01/2024 13:05

There's a girl on Tiktok who's name is Trewley Precious. 2 of her sisters are Honey Peaches Amber and Pearly Girl. All the family have similar names and weirdly they all really suit their names! I actually quite like them.

AngelinaFibres · 19/01/2024 13:05

Primary teacher.

Blu Kirton
Tia Maria
Twins called Shania and Twain

Patrickiscrazy · 19/01/2024 13:06

Midnight Storm. Basically this, translated from Czech. Official name. Never heard about La-a or that being racist.😳

drspouse · 19/01/2024 13:06

Stone -now a professional in his 50s.
Siblings called Indigo and Blue.

Startyabastard · 19/01/2024 13:06
