Love Wolfric (sounds German/Scandinavian)

Trust me, it's less pleasant when his parents and the local kids all speak like the Gallagher brothers...

No so much random, but my friend has a daughter named Sian - nice and normal, expect it’s pronounced Si-Anne.
and my daughter went to school with a girl called Chevaughnn - obviously Siobhan but spelt as it’s pronounced

This sniped link is 16 years old. Chances are someone might have used it in the last 16 years after reading this or the myth.
The poster gave first hand experience of meeting a child and I have heard of people giving first hand experience: that’s different from saying friends cousins dog. I wouldn’t claim as I wasn’t the first hand person. But if that’s what the poster met then that’s not urban myth?

Well I wouldn't call my son "Dick", but Dick Cheney parents thought otherwise and it never stopped him from making it to US Vice President post. Why "Olive" is deemed an acceptable and even tasteful name, but "Apple" is not? I will never understand that.

And clementine but not orange or satsuma!

I want to hold a baby Beowulf! Was he handed to you wrapped in wolfskin by a Viking?

I met a child called La-a. With that spelling. Pronounced Ladasha.

I kid you not - this was in a professional capacity and that was how her name was written on her records.

I still can't quite believe it!

Maybe banjocat is not in UK, because there has never been a baby registered in the UK with that name.

Phineyj · 19/01/2024 13:15

I met a baby Eponine at swimming group a decade ago. I'm not much of a musicals fan and only recently saw Les Miserables for the first time. What a character to name your little girl after!!

How lovely, they always remind me of the Puritan virtue names.

I know a Bow Bunny and walked past an Emperor in tesco!

Wow! Sure that kid will turn out very humble and modest 😁

Phineyj · 19/01/2024 13:16

Oh and I taught a Nirvana at school once. Nice girl but absolutely not the feeling you experienced teaching her 😂.
