Saxon. He be a teenager now.

We know a Nevaeh. Doesn't suit her.

Recently came across a Pacey!

Kale

Used to know a Friday

I think Kale is a lovely name, and quite common to. Isn't it the origin of the name Kyle?

Bismarck is an Afrikaans name I think.

At our child's nursery there was a Dixie..

.. surname not 'Normous', fortunately.

A boy called Senna. I guessed they liked the driver but didn't know about the pods.

Hyacinth for a man but that was back a few generations. His descendant had Isidore as a middle name.

There is a young British racing driver called Senna Proctor, named after Ayrton.

Siblings called Zero and Seven (male).

Yes I’ve taught a zero…. Thought it was a pretty harsh thing to name a kid, but perhaps I’m overthinking!

Energy! Just thought of this one - a lovely name I have come across in several English families, in at least two cases the name goes back many many generations

purpleme12 · 19/01/2024 12:48

I think this is cultural as he's Asian
But it's Karthik
But every time I can't help thinking of 'car sick'
Daren't tell my child in case it gets in her head too

muddyford · 19/01/2024 12:48

Boy Hunter and girl Piper. Thought they were doing the Twelve Days of Christmas!

I met a child called La-a. With that spelling. Pronounced Ladasha.

I kid you not - this was in a professional capacity and that was how her name was written on her records.

I still can't quite believe it!

Didn’t happen

theruffles · 19/01/2024 12:49

Kaiser, at a soft play.

Zion, at a baby group (though his family may have been religious so perhaps not that unusual)

Electra, again at a baby group.

Ignatius. Still can't wrap my head around it.

Not unusual for older Irish men

optionalnamechange · 19/01/2024 12:49

@Mittemucci the local rumour mill said he was "unwanted". I always thought that sad.

GalactiCat · 19/01/2024 12:50

With a bunch of brothers with equally saintly names? If so we know them too.
