Very outing but two children, male and female, whose first names were herbs. Their initials including middle names spelled out the same herbs.

Sage? Basil? Please not Parsley.

Sage? Basil? Please not Parsley.

Or chervil or thyme so the last letters match either Basil or Sage?

Im afraid none of them are nice names but better than Oregano or Coriander.

Kale.

Because we all want to be named after the world's worst vegetable.

Nicer than Sprout, I suppose…

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 19/01/2024 22:01

I’m going to try to resist the temptation to answer but at least one of the herbs quoted is right.

The school also had a pupil - I believe a child of recent immigrants so they probably didn’t know what they were setting up for - called William Thong, by the way. You can imagine what that was shortened to.

Pushkinini · 19/01/2024 22:02

Diesel - boy
Phoenix - girl
Blue - boy
Valen - boy

Tinkeytonkoldfruit · 19/01/2024 22:02

Aston-Villa
Child with the middle name Badass
Molineaux

All actual children's names.

Not a nickname, genuinely called Sparkle.

Do you live in Cornwall by any chance?

Ok so I reckon it’s Basil and either Sorrel or Dill. But that’s a lot of middle names. Dill and Mint ( the latter is actually quite cool ) are better lengths but don’t have the same surname.

Can’t work this out at all 😂 Anyone else?

SAGE - I reckon definitely - this is cool with influencers I think

THYME?

Only two herbs I can think of ending in E for the same surname initial

Serenity(F) Did NOT live up to her name!
Anakin (M)
Soleil (F)

Soleil was in my name list! But for a boy, I have worked with thousands of kids over the years, and unfortunately I have one of those brains where names stick to faces.

trying to find a name that didn’t remind me of someone was almost impossible- but I’d never met a Soleil!

Yeah that could be it. It sounds like the Christmas stuffing.

I once had a neighbour called Loveday

I adore this name. I'm saving it for a black Labrador one day.

ollypollymolly · 19/01/2024 22:12

@CharlotteMakepeace oh I met an Obi - he’d probably be 13 now.

Greengreenpastures · 19/01/2024 22:13

Rainbow
Cameo

Boudicca and Caractacus (female and male British Chieftains who separately resisted Roman invasion).

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 19/01/2024 22:13

Well that took a long time for me to break down - it was Fennel, a girl, and Basil, a boy, and mentioned them because of the large number of middle names and the very odd decision to basically play a word game with their children’s names.

Oh final one! Please don’t try to guess this one because it is so rare it really would be outing but I went to school with a girls whose father was an Egyptologist. Her names (Egyptian deities) were not pronounced as they were written in any way and in fourteen years a teacher never got them right first time. Her middle name was also Nut, pronounced newt. Also an Egyptian goddess and I’m sure it was goddess of something cool but it was less cool to bestow on a young girl.

blacc · 19/01/2024 22:16

Dodge charger

I wish I was joking

A family I used to work with had 3 boys called Kyeden -Kale, Kade and Kolby.

I have also had some very pretty Indian (not unusual in Indian culture) girls games in my Rainbow unit but my absolute favourite was Ahona meaning first ray of sun.

Kale and Kade very popular here in fnq.

Oh I bet I know this and you don’t need to confirm but it sounds like bastard newt. Just as well the second bit isn’t pronounced “nut.”

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 19/01/2024 22:24

It wasn’t - how is the deity name pronounced??? If not just “bastard”?

Schoolrunmumbun · 19/01/2024 22:25

My kindergarten teacher cousin in Australia taught kids named Lynx, Lock, Chain and Charm. Parents were bikers. She said they were lovely kids.

NothingToday1 · 19/01/2024 22:26
