If you'd like to try outside the existing list I'd suggest

Sibylla
Venetia

Thewildthingsarewithme · 27/10/2023 21:42

Surely a matter of taste though @RogueFemale as I’d really rather not have been called Venetia but thank you! I did like Sybille but we’ve narrowed a bit since then

I suggested Sibylla not Sybille.

Fine if you don't like it. Of course it i entirely a matter of taste. If you don't want other people's taste then quite strange to ask for it on a forum.

Thewildthingsarewithme · 27/10/2023 21:55

Oh absolutely but then of course it’s entirely reasonable to respond in kind to suggestions no 😊

I like Adeline and Cecelia the most

LulooLemon · 27/10/2023 22:52

Emeline - nice (I prefer two ems)
Cecily - lovely, apart from 'Cess' as a diminutive
Aurora - difficult to say
Adeline - no
Theodora - maybe
Leonora - maybe
Celia - love it

fixies · 27/10/2023 22:56

Another vote for Adeline Theodora or Theodora Adeline.

DramaAlpaca · 27/10/2023 22:57

I think I'd pick Cecily Leonora or Leonora Cecily.

I love Emeline/Emmeline too.

Tiredbarbie · 28/10/2023 08:55

Emmeline is lovely but will constantly get misheard as Emily, it feels more popular when you add in Emily/Emma/Emme. I love adaline - you could have Ada or Addie as a nickname but the full name is so pretty.

Calmdown14 · 28/10/2023 22:26

Aurora looks lovely written down but I find it quite hard to say (and you really do need to consider accent) and impossible to shout.

At some point you will need to stop your toddler reaching for a hot cup/ whacking a toy over the baby so being able to say a name with the correct tone is important. Not to mention all the times you stand trying to get their attention in soft play.

Saying them all aloud and at different volumes is a good test.

BoswellTheScribe · 28/10/2023 22:26

I like Cecily Emmeline or how about Elenora instead of Leonora. Elenora Cecily?

elliesmummy19 · 28/10/2023 22:33

I’m not a fan of Theodora, Leonora or Aurora (I guess I’m just not a fan of names ending in “ora”).

I really like Adeline if I had to just pick one.

WithTheHatToMatch · 28/10/2023 22:36

Emmeline, Leonora & Aurora are all lovely.

Emmeline Cecilia
Leonora Emmeline

are my favourites.

Heyhoherewegoagain · 28/10/2023 22:51

Love Adeline-it’s my ex MIL’s name and she’s a lovely lady

Oh dear, wish I could say I like any of them. Emmeline & Adeline makes me think of ointment & disinfectant & cecili is too like Cecil an old mans name. Aurora, hope there's no difficulty pronouncing R
Leonora (Nora virus) Theodora (would be shortened) Celia, too like celiac

I expect to get flack for this but it's food for thought & I'm being honest. As long as your happy with your choices OP thats all that matters. I'm just sharing my thoughts & you did ask.

Battytriker · 29/10/2023 01:15

From those names I think I would go for Leonora Cecily

mathanxiety · 29/10/2023 01:05

It's Norovirus, and flak.

Aria999 · 29/10/2023 01:29

From your list I like Cecily, Emeline (though definitely prefer Emmeline) and Adeline.

Madeline
Marianne
Eleanor
Leonie
Angelina
Cressida

Aria999 · 29/10/2023 01:33

Also these are a bit religious for me and possibly a bit out there but as you are looking at 'ine' names I kind of like

Evangeline
Coventina
Benedictine

saffy2 · 29/10/2023 07:25

My eldest went to school with a Cecily. It sounds nothing like cess pit. It’s pronounced more like Sicily, they were Italian so I always presumed it was an Italian name. But also no children called her cess pit 😂

Safxxx · 29/10/2023 08:10

Previously someone suggested Eleanora I prefer that to Leonora.
Celia
Eleanora
With Cecily little ones will say silly older ones will say cess.
Adeline is nice 👍

Theadora27 · 29/10/2023 08:20

Cecily is LOVELY and would be perfect with a single syllable surname. I’d call my daughter Cecily Bean. Theodora is my dog’s name.

mathanxiety · 29/10/2023 01:05

It's Norovirus, and flak.

Sorry, flack can be a form of gunfire which can also be used in criticism as can flak (look it up)
I'm aware its norovirus, a new line and bracket seperated the word.

Typo Separated, no doubt more flaK 🤣

Thewildthingsarewithme · 29/10/2023 10:28

Now doubting all names and considering going back to the drawing board 😂
