This is a slightly unconventional name but im a big fan and I think it is very cool and also unisex. Thoughts?

Nope, too much like Pedro.

alrighthen · 23/10/2023 21:19

Like it!

MissTeaParty · 23/10/2023 21:51

Just makes me think of padron peppers

dressedforcomfort · 23/10/2023 21:53

Sounds like Padre - as in priest.

I actually don't think it sounds unisex, it sounds like a boys name. Personally, I wouldn't....

StrangePaintName · 23/10/2023 21:56

It sounds like someone getting confused between Pablo and Pedro.

Wanderinghome · 23/10/2023 21:59

It also reminds me of a Padre.

What does the name mean?

Aylestone · 23/10/2023 21:59

My god, no! I reckon there should be a law that anyone who chooses a silly name for a child should have to take that name on for themselves for a year and see how it feels introducing themselves to people. It’s making me picture dark, hairy men, perhaps because it sounds like pedro? 😂

PoshCoffee · 23/10/2023 22:01

It’s a great name for a dog.

LambMomo · 23/10/2023 22:02

Just. No.

Same thoughts. Not a fan.

Smartiepants79 · 23/10/2023 22:02

It’s a type of Vermouth.
It’s not unisex name.
Its very masculine sounding and when you type it into google it autocorrects to Padron peppers.
Please choose something else.

AuntieStella · 23/10/2023 22:04

It sounds like a mash up of Pedro and Pablo, with a side order of the priesthood.

I'd be very surprised if it were seen as unisex

BoleynMemories13 · 23/10/2023 22:26

I read it as Pedro at first, as I expect many would.

There's nothing remotely feminine or nice about it. Awful name. Don't do it.

theduchessofspork · 23/10/2023 22:35

No - it sounds like a mix of Pedro, Pablo and Padre, all of which are male (the latter being a priest)

Anything that sounds like the above sounds like a Latin blokes name.

You are naming a human baby girl and woman to be, not a pet rabbit. Don’t be a dick.

cocksstrideintheevening · 23/10/2023 22:38

God no. Padre.

BrimfulOfMash · 23/10/2023 22:41

No

NoNeedToHurry · 23/10/2023 22:41

The o on the end makes it sound like a male name. An a ending would feminise it. Padra. Which I actually really like.

ElleCapitaine · 23/10/2023 22:42

Did you make that up, OP?

Lantyslee · 23/10/2023 22:42

No don't, it's very bad. There are 100s of other nicer names which are unisex.

DawnieOwl · 23/10/2023 22:43

I assume you think Cleo is a male name too?

Go again.

If you like Cleo then add patra. You can call her Patra as a nn.

But Cleo is short for Cleopatra.

SkaneTos · 23/10/2023 22:54

What does the name Padro mean?

alrighthen · 23/10/2023 22:57

I actually like it because it doesn’t have ‘a’ ending and it doesn’t disappear into a sea of vowel heavy nothingness with Ada, Isla and Isabella. To my ear it sounds strong, cool and modern.
