Please no chav.

No Blaze,Courtney-May, Minky-Rae etc.

My daughter already does not suit her name it is far to gentle for her even dh agrees (I am amazed by this) but I am flummoxed as to what we could call her instead as we had Nell, Annie, Constance and Dolly on our lists and neither of them fit either.

Any suggestions would be very welcomed, I really want to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later I think we have 5 weeks before we can't change it officially.

My Constance is as fiery as they come! Fab name I think (but I would) am not having it shortened to Connie, she is definately a Constance )

I would have loved Tallulah "Tilly" - but....little bro just had his heart broken by a Tilly so that was no go!
I have an Olivia and Constance - both utter handfuls )

She looks like a Tess or Maggie.

Lola is a beautiful strong, fiery name. I think it is one of those names that suits a kid and can be shortened if you want a nickname but is a great name for a woman too. When I am chosing names (not that we're currently having much success) I like to think of how it'll suit my baby and then him or her starting their first day at work and being introduced.

Did you think of Frederica - Freddie?

I have a Constance (11 months) and never wanted her shortened to Connie so have always introduced her as Constance and people have accepted bigger name. I LOVE the shortening to Nancy though! Never thought of that.....hubby not that keen but I think if she is going to be shortened I will go with Nancy - it's lovely!
I also love a previous post - Elizabeth "Billie" - those that may turn their noses up (and there's always one!) 'fancy calling a gorgeous little girl Billie' to be then told - her name is Elizabeth....well that would shut them up

alfiesbabe · 01/03/2008 22:09
