Didn’t you all name your first daughter (if you have) your favourite name?

We named our daughter what we both loved at the time and still love it, but there are so many gorgeous names. The names I love now are different to ones I loved years ago.

Rosa

lifeturnsonadime · 10/03/2023 16:38

Haidi is my favourite, I didn't use it because I was concerned it would get confused with Heidi.

Also love Juno but DH vetoed it.

mummywithtwokidsplusdog · 10/03/2023 16:38

Violet, Elodie, Meadow

Elodie09 · 10/03/2023 16:39

Lovely to see my user name mentioned a bit as a good'un, obvs I really like it and my real name is awful.

TheWitchingHour · 10/03/2023 16:39

Arya. pretty and strong in my opinion.

Didn’t you all name your first daughter (if you have) your favourite name?

I have two daughters, neither of them have my favourite name (Elizabeth) as DH doesn't like it. They have two other lovely names, one of which randomly occurred to me in pregnancy and instantly stuck for both of us, and the other is another name I've always loved.

adrianmolesmole · 10/03/2023 16:41

Serafina or Seraphina
Anoushka
Saraya

I guess I like slightly frilly, exotic sounding names Grin

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 10/03/2023 16:41

Julia, Liliana, Rosella

Sparklybutold · 10/03/2023 16:41

My daughters name. Cant actually say it as there's not many with it!

Carouselfish · 10/03/2023 16:41

With the exception of my daughters'...
Rafaella
Faye
I guess I like a and e near each other.

DramaAlpaca · 10/03/2023 16:41

Emma. It's short and simple, timeless and classic. I love it.

I had all boys so couldn't use it.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 10/03/2023 16:42

Nugg · 10/03/2023 16:17

Above was naive!? Above!!??

It is an acronym for Lord Of Darkness.

I like Elodie a lot as well. But with a sort of French accent on it? I can't explain it!

Favourite names - Francesca, Ines, Padme (not even sure if it's a real name or made up for Star Wars!), Lakshmi. Something about the way the letters trip off the tongue. I only have boys though.

BellePeppa · 10/03/2023 16:42

crikey some of these names would go on the worst for me (sorry 😯😎). I particularly like soft sounding names as opposed to hard sounding so I like names such as Sarah, Sofie, Emma. But I do really love Penelope.

Coffeetree · 10/03/2023 16:42

Cleis
Bathsheba

LuckyDipForTheEuro · 10/03/2023 16:43

Josephine, Electra, Persephone, Audra

ReadtheReviews · 10/03/2023 16:43

Lucinda as a pp said.
Also Tallulah.

Weddingpuzzle · 10/03/2023 16:44

Aww both my first, second and confirmation name are all named on this thread. What are the chances! My daughters name isn't on here, very unusual welsh name, but I love it and so does she!

Libre2 · 10/03/2023 16:44

Persephone

Hoolahoophop · 10/03/2023 16:45

Verity has always been a favorite pretty and strong.

Londontown12 · 10/03/2023 16:45

Henrietta
Alice
Iris

Weddingpuzzle · 10/03/2023 16:48

If I had more girls I would go for a scandi name like Sanna or Anneli - just found out my DD's name is scandinavian too.

MotherOfTriplets2000 · 10/03/2023 16:48

Dave

BellePeppa · 10/03/2023 16:48

XelaM · 10/03/2023 16:23

Except Sophie, Emma and Catherine/Katie, all the names on this thread are hideous 😬Sorry

I know. I thought it was a spoof thread for a minute, (not Penelope though, that’s lovely 😁)

GandhiDeclaredWarOnYou · 10/03/2023 16:49

I’m surprised how many people mentioned Aurelia.

She’s a shallow, vain, self-centred woman in one of my favourite books and I can’t disassociate the name from
the character.
