Girls name - Truly...

Just wondered what peoples thoughts are on a baby girls name - Truly. I absolutely love it but husband isn't convinced... xxx

No. Some wise teen would respond to every statement with 'Truly?'.

I love it!! DW's childhood best friend is called Truly and apparently she never had any problems with bullying etc.

She's twelve! She's a child not a wife. Her mother has left now anyway.

I have a friend whose surname is Truly, so that's another possibly source besides being a virtue name, and no worse than, say, Connolly or Everly or Riley as a first name. Strangely, though, even as a surname she had a lot of people mispronouncing it as Truey or Trudy.

I think it's pretty. I do think scrumptious, but she's a nice character. Certainly like it better than some of the names that get love on here.

Your husband not being keen is more of a problem I'd say.

How about Shirley? That gives me a similar vibe.

As adverbs go, truly is a bit weak...at least go for one with a bit of power! 💪
