This is not meant to be bitchy at all because I LOVE that people do this (subconsciously maybe?). I think most of them haven’t realised or didn’t until a few years after naming their kids! So they’re not really contrived themey names, more coincidental. My own kids accidentally have musicals-related names.

I know siblings:

Fred and Barney (flintstones)
Ariel(la) and Sebastian (little mermaid)
Madeline and Margaret (Maddie and Maggie)
Matilda (Tilly) and Billy
Henry and Harriet (essentially the same name)

and mums and kids:
Ellie and Ollie
Ellie and Belle

My cousin has a Jake and a Bella ( tweenies)

worriedatthistime · 14/09/2022 22:34

Why are people comparing two names that are now names in their own right now
Not what they meant 100 years ago
Most people wouldn't know what jack was a nickname for etc , its just jack a name in its own right nowadays
Not everyone reads a baby name book

NCFT0922 · 14/09/2022 22:34

Just remember one; Myla & Lilah.

RaininSummer · 14/09/2022 22:36

I once knew of twins, Charlie and Millie aka Charles and Camilla.

Berlinlover · 14/09/2022 22:37

I have two cousins (brothers) called Shane and Wayne.

toomuchlaundry · 14/09/2022 22:37

@worriedatthistime Prince Harry is actually Henry.

worriedatthistime · 14/09/2022 22:40

@toomuchlaundry I know that but these days they are still names in their own right and I think its weirder naming your child henry but calking them harry
Just name them Harry

EmilyDickinson · 14/09/2022 22:42

The Queen has children called Anne and Andrew.

mathanxiety · 14/09/2022 22:43

Jill and Jack.
Michelle and Michael.
And Christmas twins Mary and Joy.

QuiteContinental · 14/09/2022 22:47

There are sisters Janet and Jane in my family. Different names to the ear but only one letter different written down. Seems like a postal nightmare to me!

I also enjoy the fictional Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-Tail and… Peter!

Julia234 · 14/09/2022 22:49

I know of young twins named jack and Daniel.

France98 · 14/09/2022 22:52

I know twins called Brian and Ian. Not very imaginative. I also know siblings called Kayleigh and Kayla

Penguinsaregreat · 14/09/2022 22:54

I met a John Smith who called his son……John Smith. Bad enough having the same name as a brewery never mind the same name as your dad.

MK19590 · 14/09/2022 22:54

Eric and Erin

Zoe and Chloe

LosttheremoteAGAIN · 14/09/2022 22:59

MrsReeves · 14/09/2022 23:02

seething1234 · 14/09/2022 23:05

Gemma and Emma....

scotstarstrikestwo · 14/09/2022 23:07

My dad and his brother both have the same first name George after their dad but only ever been known by their middle names. Used to be quite common in Scotland I think

Also know of boy girl twins who'd now be on their 40s called Holly and ivy

MrsMoastyToasty · 14/09/2022 23:09

I know siblings called Karen and Sharon. I also worked with an Andrew who was married to an Amanda (Andy and Mandy).

Sproutpie · 14/09/2022 23:13

Twins Nicola and Victoria - Nicky and Vicky.

QuimReaper · 14/09/2022 23:16

There were twins locally when I was at school called Alec and Alex. I found out recently they're quite well known these days.

BobGalaxy · 14/09/2022 23:16

I thought siblings Cameron and Camilla were were pretty matchy, but they pale in comparison to some on here!

StarlingsInTheRoof · 14/09/2022 23:24

Maggie and Margot. Feels odd to have both in the same family as they are both Margaret / Marguerite nicknames.

Readinstead · 14/09/2022 23:25

I know a couple, he is Ivan John and she is Joanne Jane. Ivan is Russian form of John and Joanne is a derivative of Jane so there are essentially John John and Jane Jane (also Jane is the feminine of John)

Brother and sister Peter and Jane

Two sisters Holly and Ivy

Work colleague whose dc were Philip and Elizabeth. The kids were teenagers when he realised, after someone commented about him being a Royalist (he wasn't)

Married couple Chris(topher) and Chris(tine)

Brothers Carl (after his dad), Carlos (after his grandad) and Carlo (because wtf)

You must have a very middle-class circle of friends based on those very prim names
