How many Harrison’s do you know?

We’re having a boy and the only name we can semi agree on is Harrison or Harry.
so how many Harrison’s do you know? Is it massively popular.

I’ve worked with a lot of children so a lot of names I associate with children so are automatically off the list. I also don’t like biblical names.

I really like Rafferty but DH not so much, he likes Alexander me so not much 🤣

last name will also start with a H

2, one 12ish, one 6. They live at opposite ends of the country.

Tisfortired · 26/06/2022 13:42

One in DS class (they’re 8) and he’s a sweetie!

AnneLovesGilbert · 26/06/2022 13:43
  1. He’s 3.
gwenneh · 26/06/2022 13:44

Three. All in school with the DC, primary/early secondary.

Sorry but I'm not a fan. But i do have biblical named dc so we aren't of the same taste!

Twizbe · 26/06/2022 13:46

Including the royal one, I know about 5. Ranging from early teens to primary.

I personally don't like it. I don't mind Harry short for Henry though.

KEG05 · 26/06/2022 13:46
  1. He’s ten and a lovely wee boy
RightOnTheEdge · 26/06/2022 13:48

I don't know any Harrisons but there are 4 Harrys in my dc's school and 3 in my family.

Alfiemoon1 · 26/06/2022 13:48

1 my 17 year old ds

LynneBenfield · 26/06/2022 13:51

I like Harry (for Henry) but not keen on Harrison.

I know 1. He’s about 18 now.

I should say that the 1 is Harrison.

I know a few Harry’s but they aren’t Harrison’s

SpaceJamtart · 26/06/2022 13:55

6 Harrison's between 2 and 25
I much prefer Harry

Samthenanny · 26/06/2022 13:56

Thanks all.

i don’t know if we’d use Harry as a nickname that might come once he’s here I guess. We’re in London and we don’t know of any Harrison’s.
fully aware it’s not everyone’s taste but no name is 😊

My son is called Harrison! He is 16 and there were no other Harrisons in his primary, and there are no others in his secondary.

He has never had it shortened to Harry, and he says he really likes his name. My dad calls him H sometimes.

newtb · 26/06/2022 14:00

1, he's mid-20s

HeelsAtDawn · 26/06/2022 14:00

three- one aged about 28 years; one aged about 12 and one aged about 4.

I know three, all under 5. None in DS’s school though. It’s not like you are calling him Jack or Oliver.

I think a lot of people are going for a wider range of names these days anyway - we have a couple of girls in DS’s year group with the same name (two Olive’s, two Eva’s and an Ava). But the boys all have totally different names.

SpaceJamtart · 26/06/2022 14:06

I think I prefer Harry because of two of the Harrisons that I was in school with, one was called Harrison Garrison and the other Harrison Farrelsome so both of their names rhymed and they just seemed silly

iloveredwine · 26/06/2022 14:09

4 x 13 year olds in our school

Fivebeanchilli · 26/06/2022 14:11

North London.
LOADS of Harrisons but mostly 14-21 in age. Lots with Jackson as a brother.
I know fewer Harrys but with a wider spread of ages.
