I’ll go first, I hate to say but I genuinely think nevaeh has such a pretty sound but the name itself tends to get alot of hate.

I have a Georgia, I love it because it's not a popular name.

A8888 · 13/06/2022 13:23

I love Mildred but hate that it would probably get shortened to Millie

Frogsareflyinginfromthewest · 13/06/2022 13:25

How do you pronounce Nevaeh ? Like never-eh? Or never-eh. Either said in a Yorkshire accent sounds right.

Frogsareflyinginfromthewest · 13/06/2022 13:26

Blinking auto correct... Neev/a/eh

Easilystartled · 13/06/2022 13:27

I can’t believe no one has said Norman yet!! I love it. Just makes me think of a handsome, tall, man from the North!

I’d pronounce it nuh-VAY-uh. I’ve no idea if this is correct as I’ve only seen it in text, I’ve never met one.

Norman will always be naughty Norman Price from Fireman Sam to me, spoken with an angry Welsh mum intonation!

Which is a shame, because I kind of feel like it should be in the same rugged, sexy camp as Roman and Tudor.

Frogsareflyinginfromthewest · 13/06/2022 13:30

@ComtesseDeSpair thanks, that makes sense, and sounds better too!

Chaoslatte · 13/06/2022 13:33

I love Jane and Mary but people think they are too boring.

neerg · 13/06/2022 13:47

I love Rachel. It just seems so clear and light to me.
I predict it will return in 15 years😁😁😁😁

I really like Roxanne. Not realistically usable though!

Why not? I've got one. Nobody comments on any negatives.

DinosaursEatMan · 13/06/2022 14:03

Lilith, fabulous name and completely unusable.

Chaoslatte · 13/06/2022 14:21

@neerg Rachel is lovely!

@Summerwetordry I like Roxanne /Roxane too but was put off by the Police song about a prostitute.

Lilith, fabulous name and completely unusable.

It isn't unusable at all, I've met a toddler one. It's gorgeous and was on our list but I make boy children exclusively

I like Roxanne too but also think of the Police song about a prostitute..but Lola's popular and that's a song about a cross dresser and it's not affected it's popularity!

My name is wet apparently according to a recent thread 😂 my children's names are frilly, overused and boring too. I think they're all ok though 😉

If it’s the Lucy thread, I’ve always liked the name Lucy and vastly prefer it to the other options posted! Mn is weird with names.

soulinablackberrypie · 13/06/2022 18:02

No sure what is officially "hated" but I like the sounds in both Clarence and Hilda, while recognising that they might be considered too old-fashioned for a little child to live with.

Luluuuuuuuuuu85 · 13/06/2022 18:28

@ForestFae that's the one! I wouldn't describe myself or any of the other Lucys I know (I've known quite a few over the years) as wet even if our name is 🤪

RosesAndHellebores · 13/06/2022 19:05

Georgia was hugely popular 25/30 years ago. At least three sets of friends have one and the dc had one in every year group they were ever in.

I like Georgia too! I also like Dixie (and in the new "woke" America, that goes about as well as Hitler -- maybe worse.)

What have I missed with Dixie?
