What are some “Hated names” that you actually think sound nice

I’ll go first, I hate to say but I genuinely think nevaeh has such a pretty sound but the name itself tends to get alot of hate.

Loving Persephone. Disliking the other names on here. Especially Sharon (it’s not my fault as l live in Essex but lm not from here!)

Susan and Sarah are thought to be dull but I like them.

Such a shame it's essentially been ruined by association. I think it's a gorgeous name and would definitely be considering it were it not for the obvious.

A bit like Persephone - I love the names Penelope and Ariadne. I couldn't ever use them because it'd be so pretentious. But I am very jealous of a friend who married a Greek man and therefore got to give her children gorgeous Greek names!

When I learned most geeky men’s names are French it changed my opinion of them and I find them lovely now!

It's really no worse than the rash of short, old-fashioned-sounding girl's names that started popping up a while back — Ava, Ella, Ada, Ivy, etc., and has similar sounds to other popular-ish names like Eden.

There's nothing pretentious about using a name you like.

Gladys and Karen sound lovely if you remove the associations. I agree that isis would be lovely if the only association was the goddess, it has a very unique sound. I also think Niamh pronounced wrong ( I thought it was Neem when I first saw it) would be a nice name, reminds me of fairies/nymphs

Judas is a lovely name but connotations... !

I like Karen, I resent all the bullshit about it so I named a toy dinosaur puppet Karen, my son doesn't mind.

I love Rita but couldn’t get my husband to go for it. He kept singing “lovely Rita, meter maid…” whenever it came up.

Nature based slightly hippie names like Sky, River, Reef, Ocean etc I think they're beautiful!

I think Karen is a nice name.

Unusable now of course.

I also love Neil for a boy.
