I love it, but would like opinions.

If you don't like it, why not? Generally would like opinions ☺️

FelicityPike · 25/03/2022 16:15

It’s not a name for me, sorry.

poodlepoop · 25/03/2022 16:16

As in Anglo-Saxon?

It's used by white supremacy groups

Wishingthreestonesaway · 25/03/2022 16:23

Sexy for short?

WeatherwaxOn · 25/03/2022 16:25

I know someone who has several children, one of whom is called Saxon. Unusual but potentially could, as a pp says, suggest white supremacists.

Knightbuss · 25/03/2022 16:31

I really dislike it, sorry. Sax sounds like sex, plus it’s a word rather than a name to me.

twomumsonebump · 25/03/2022 16:36

Love it!! It was actually top of our boy list!

astoundedgoat · 25/03/2022 16:41

Once upon a time, absolutely, yes, but it has be hijacked by white supremacists now, so unless you firmly lean that way, I'd probably give it a miss.

Is it that you like the medieval vibe or the abstract sound?

Pemba · 25/03/2022 16:44

Urgh, no. It's an ancient people, a surname possibly, not a first name (or shouldn't be).

What will he be called for short, Saxy? 😕.

Dresslover1950s · 25/03/2022 16:45

Love it was on our list

demoness · 25/03/2022 16:46

I've never heard of this name being associated with white supremacists... I have heard of it as a dog's name though.

deadlanguage · 25/03/2022 16:46

No, too weird. What about a Saxon-ish name like Alfred, Edward, Edmund, Harold, Wilfred?

MrsMoastyToasty · 25/03/2022 16:48

Tutor is occasionally used as a name. I kind of like it.

MrsMoastyToasty · 25/03/2022 16:48

Tutor = Tudor.

Soubriquet · 25/03/2022 16:49

Ah no. I have a friend called Saxon and she’s a girl.

It’s a girls name to me now

JemimaTiggywinkle · 25/03/2022 16:50

I don’t like it I’m afraid. Seeing as you’ve asked,
my reasons are:

  • It’s not a name,
  • Very try hard, like you’re trying to find a name that will stand out/make some kind of statement, rather than just choosing something nice.
-Possibly a bit white supremacist.
RestingMurderousFace · 25/03/2022 16:50

No.

Justkeeppedaling · 25/03/2022 16:50

Tudor is a Welsh first name. It's pronounce more like Teedor, or should be.

PukkaP · 25/03/2022 16:51

It's not a name.

BourbonVanilla · 25/03/2022 16:52

How about Saxophone?

DivIsMyFavouriteSubject · 25/03/2022 16:54

@BourbonVanilla 🎷🤣🤣🤣

Ivyonafence · 25/03/2022 16:54

It makes me think of white supremacy.

TBH if I saw it among a pile of resumes, it would give me pause.

I'd go with something else.

Roselilly36 · 25/03/2022 16:55

Sorry no a fan, I think Aldi use that name for toilet roll.

FinnRussell · 25/03/2022 17:17

Awful

KirstenBlest · 25/03/2022 17:24

Norman is better

emmathedilemma · 25/03/2022 17:30

@Roselilly36

Sorry no a fan, I think Aldi use that name for toilet roll.
You're correct! groceries.aldi.co.uk/en-GB/p-saxon-white-toilet-tissue-9-pack/4088600067100 Loo roll aside it's an awful name. Just about passable for a dog but not a child.
