Clementine has swiftly moved up my and she's name list after a lot of agonizing 😂. Thoughts? Is it a bit out there? TIA!

Lovely :)

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/03/2022 18:52

It’s not at all out there, it’s quite popular.

I quite like it, but I think it has shades of tweeness like Jemima, Tabitha and Eloise, so not sure I’d use it personally

I know of Clementines- when I say out there I mean, it's a type of citrus fruit!

Sorry I don't think it has a nice sound to it.I don't like clem or clemmie either.

VampireMoney · 16/03/2022 18:57

It was on the list for DD2 as I thought it fit well with DD1's name (Tabitha), but in the end we went with exh choice.

ladygindiva · 16/03/2022 18:59

I really don't like it, although I seem to be in a minority. I don't get the love for aurora either. They both feel too complicated.

Lindy2 · 16/03/2022 19:00

I like it.

It's unusual without being too try hard. It also works well for a little child (cute) through to grown woman (quite elegant).

ThursdayLastWeek · 16/03/2022 19:02

I love it, but I like the sort of 1930s aristocratic connotations it has.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 16/03/2022 19:06

It's a bit frilly for me but I can see it's quite pretty. I know it was the name of Winston Churchill's wife who was presumably posh, but it also sounds a bit hillbilly too. 'Clementine, I'll whup your hide if I catch you with that varmint Billy-Bob again'.

And I can never decide if it should be teen or tyne.

claracluck1978 · 16/03/2022 19:08

I love it and had DTS2 been a girl that would have been the name we would have used

canyoubelievethat · 16/03/2022 19:15

I like it.

ProperVexed · 16/03/2022 19:27

Love it. Was my top girl name...but I had boys.

Overthebow · 16/03/2022 19:33

I like it as long as it’s not shortened to Clem or Clemmie. Much too similar to phlegm or clammie.

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 16/03/2022 20:10

Love it.

bloominglovelyorange · 16/03/2022 21:04

Love it. One of my favourites

alexdgr8 · 16/03/2022 21:05

yes.
good proper solid name.
not candy-floss or similar concoctions often seen on here.

LemonsLimes · 16/03/2022 23:26

Nice. I remember Princess Di and Charles having Clementine Hambro as a little bridesmaid

yikesanotherbooboo · 16/03/2022 23:46

Not even vaguely out there.Very much of the early 20th century and thus bang on trend.

midsomermurderess · 17/03/2022 00:19

I think it's clunky and cumbersome.

PinkSyCo · 17/03/2022 00:21

It’s awful.
