Love the name Frida for a baby girl, but is it too out there? Thinking Frida Kahlo whose art i love...

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Heruka · 26/10/2021 22:37

No I think it’s wonderful!

Hopeisallineed · 26/10/2021 22:38

No! It’s fab. Frida rocks.

Chunkymenrock · 26/10/2021 22:39

Very frumpy!

Gorgeous

YoComoManzanas · 26/10/2021 22:41

I know a toddler Frida. Go for it if you like it. The kids round here are named all sorts.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 26/10/2021 22:43

no

but I would assum a Scandinavian or German connection
(Yes, I know Frida Kahlo was Mexican but her father was German)

Lovely name, do it

Unsure1983 · 26/10/2021 22:44

No it's wonderful

Kalettesarethebest · 26/10/2021 22:45

I like it!!

DramaAlpaca · 26/10/2021 22:45

It's not crazy at all, but I'm sorry to say I think it's really quite an ugly, frumpy name. The only good thing about it is that it's not spelled Freda.

TempsPerdu · 26/10/2021 22:46

Not at all, I think it’s a fabulous name (but then I have a Greta, which has a similar vibe - I quite like the slightly clunky ones! Smile)

Great namesake, strong, lovely meaning…. go for it!

Winniemarysarah · 26/10/2021 22:46

I was going to say the opposite. I think it’s a great name but I’m not liking the spelling Frida
Jubilate · 26/10/2021 22:47

I'd find it a bit 'trying hard to be cool'. But it's not an awful name in and of itself.

TheBeesElbows · 26/10/2021 22:47

I think it's lovely

BeKindBeYou · 27/10/2021 06:07

It’s a lovely name!!!

LetHimHaveIt · 27/10/2021 06:15

It's Jamie Redknapp's new missus, isn't it? I think it's a bit 'old lady'ish as 'Frieda' or 'Freda' (very much thinking Victoria Wood's 'The Ballad of Freda and Barry' here) but strangely less so when 'Frida'. I think younger generations are less likely to think it has 'elderly' connotations.

mathanxiety · 27/10/2021 06:18

Fantastic name. So Nordic, so classic.

Shasha17 · 27/10/2021 06:48

I like it. I know a toddler Frieda

cultkid · 27/10/2021 06:52

Love it

HollysBush · 27/10/2021 06:54

I like it!

drpet49 · 27/10/2021 06:55

Ugly name. Reminds me of frigid.

GoodnightGrandma · 27/10/2021 06:55

No, not a nice name at all.

theresanooselooseaboutmyhoose · 27/10/2021 07:04

Too 'try hard' for sure.

Especially the spelling. That will need correcting a lot

SapereAude · 27/10/2021 07:07

I think the problem is:
Frida- cool, arty, Scandi goddesses
Freda- connotations of Hilda Ogdenesque downtrodden drudgery.

See also Hilda.

SaltySheepdog · 27/10/2021 07:07

It’s ok, not out there. I prefer flora or fleur
