I love this name and all the meanings in different cultures, what comes to mind when you hear the name Mina?

Dracula

Fuckingfuckssake · 09/08/2021 15:08

I absolutely love it.

pinkmoon18 · 09/08/2021 15:09

Cute!

Noshowwithoutpunch · 09/08/2021 15:11

Dracula.

I do like it.

Bellarime · 09/08/2021 15:11

I don’t like it. I think it’s the “ina” sound as I equally don’t like Nina or Dina

Amima · 09/08/2021 15:12

Dracula. But it’s a nice name.

LincolnshireLassInLondon · 09/08/2021 15:12

I love it!

firstimemamma · 09/08/2021 15:16

I like it.

User135792468 · 09/08/2021 15:20

I really like it. I would assume the little girl is Indian though.

freelions · 09/08/2021 15:20

Dracula - but I think the character is actually called Wilhelmina

I don't love it but don't hate it either

TenThousandSpoons · 09/08/2021 15:20

Is it pronounced “meaner”?

Amima · 09/08/2021 15:22

I would assume the little girl is Indian
Tbh this came into my mind too, because of the actress Mina Anwar.

riotlady · 09/08/2021 15:26

I love it!

FelicityPike · 09/08/2021 15:27

I would assume Indian too.
Navid’s wife from Still Game.

FelicityPike · 09/08/2021 15:28

@TenThousandSpoons

Is it pronounced “meaner”?
Mee-nah there’s no R.
elizabethdraper · 09/08/2021 15:29

Love it.

Reminds me of dracula and glenroeGrin

It's pronounced mine-a

alexdgr8 · 09/08/2021 15:30

what's the difference in those pronunciations.
they sound exactly the same to me.
which is why i don't like it as a name.
meaner is not a good association.

Onfire · 09/08/2021 15:30

The Mina I know is pronounced Mee-nah

I love it . Little girl does have Indian heritage

I wanted one of ours to be named Nina but DH vetoed it

cariadlet · 09/08/2021 15:31

Dracula. I like it.

alexdgr8 · 09/08/2021 15:32

mine-ah

sounds like a minah bird, or one who delves in the earth.
also not pretty ideas.
if it's on the end of a longer name, like wilhemina, that's better, because there are more options, and it's not the full name.

L1ttleSeahorse · 09/08/2021 15:33

Mee nah is how I would pronounce meaner. Which seems a bit cruel...

WaltzingToWalsingham · 09/08/2021 15:48

The only Mina I know pronounces her name "meaner". Which puts me in mind of, "Is my child meaner than your child?"

Sorry OP!

whatausername · 09/08/2021 16:47

Pretty name

FayeFayeFayeFayeFaye · 09/08/2021 16:51

I would assume some sort of Indian heritage and pronounce it Mee-nah.

It’s alright, not my favourite by any means.

LtDansleg · 09/08/2021 16:52

It’s extremely feminine IMO
