What do you think of the baby name Mina?

I love this name and all the meanings in different cultures, what comes to mind when you hear the name Mina?

I really like it - Dracula is one of my favourite books. I also really like (in fact I prefer) Minna.

Decided against it because of the difficulty with pronouncing it.

Very nice. I know two people called Mina: one is Turkish, one is Indian/European.

Indian colleague is Meena so I would think of her - she is lovely

Dracula..it’s a lovely name. Mila is also lovely and doesn’t have the “meaner” problem!

Is it Min a or Mee na

It's a pretty name. Yes I do think of the Mina character played by Winona Ryder in Bram Stoke's Dracula, but she was a good character! I would automatically think 'Mee-na', surprised that apparently some people pronounce it a bit like 'miner'!

It's got an equal sort of Victorian /Indian vibe, although I think the Victorians often used it as a shortening for names like Wilhelmina.

The 'meaner' thing, meh it wouldn't really occur to me. Most names inevitably contain bits of other words /sound like something else. I don't think there'd be a problem.
Having said this, I do like Nina more really, just a little.

Makes me think of a KPop idol (Kwon Mina) who's currently self-destructing. Messy situation. Aside from her I do like it as a name.

Makes me think of the Film Mina Tannenbaum.(if I remember the title correctly)

Is it the same as Meena?
