Which do you prefer? (Spoiler alert: we LOVE unusual names.) Any nicknames for Bruno or Caspian that spring to mind? Or any other similar names you think we might like? Thanks!

I know a little Nexus.

Figgygal · 22/06/2021 15:12

I can’t pick one sorry op

kerosene20 · 22/06/2021 15:13

Frank as a nickname for Bruno?

Violetlavenders · 22/06/2021 15:13

Love Bruno and Caspian!

Moonshine160 · 22/06/2021 15:15

Caspian, or Bruno at a push.
It wouldn’t be fair to name a child Pip or Zebedee.

Fispi · 22/06/2021 15:16

Caspian nn Cas. Love it.

miltonj · 22/06/2021 15:19

Love Bruno and Caspian or Cassius nick name would obv be Cass or Cassy. (Have met lots of make cassys) don't like zebedee but what about zebediah? Hate pip.

LividBlabber · 22/06/2021 15:19

I am genuinely and honestly contemplating naming my second born Zebedee nn Zeb if I am ever lucky enough to get pregnant again.

My firstborn has an unusual name and I love Z names.

Mind you, I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than give a baby a top ten name so I’m probably not the person to ask.

thecognoscenti · 22/06/2021 15:22

Caspian is nice and Bruno is at least a name. Pip - no. Zebedee - double no. Your kids' names aren't the place to show off how 'quirky' you are.

deathbypostitnote · 22/06/2021 15:29

I would always feel like I'd named my child French or English (or Narnian?) with a name like Caspian. It feels like it should be the root (Casper?).

Unless you're incredibly privileged and sending your son to the male equivalent of Hanford, I feel Pip is a lovely nursery name rather than a handle for life.

Perhaps you like Indigo, Gabriel or Kit (for Kristopher).

PattyPan · 22/06/2021 15:32

Bruno. Zebedee is cruel and I don’t like geography names or nicknames as names.

TriangularPrism · 22/06/2021 15:34

Zebedee - have a word Hmm

KIngsySpence · 22/06/2021 15:34

I knew a couple of brothers called Zebedee and Zeth back in school.
They didn't have it easy.

Twinmammaplusone · 22/06/2021 15:36

Caspian or Casper maybe?

DameAlyson · 22/06/2021 15:40

Zebedee hmm. You can't be serious?

Boinggg

Time for bed.

ElfDragon · 22/06/2021 15:40

Any except Zebedee.

I would use a ‘proper’ name for Pip, though - Philip, or Peter - rather than use a nickname as a given name.

I do also prefer Caspar or Cassius to Caspian

toastofthetown · 22/06/2021 15:41

I like Caspian. Cass would be the obvious nickname, but I’m sure others would evolve naturally. Bruno is ok; not a favourite but not terrible. Pip is more of a nickname to me. Philip is actually around as popular as Bruno for a longer name. Not a fan of Zebedee.

2bazookas · 22/06/2021 15:46

What sort of dog is it?

everybodysang · 22/06/2021 15:52

Zebedee is probably a bit much. Though shortened to Zeb it's pretty nice.

I love Pip - and I know a couple of adult Pips - but they're all Philip as a full name. Loathe Bruno. Caspian is nice, and Cass is a sweet nickname.

debwong · 22/06/2021 15:56

@2bazookas

What sort of dog is it?
Grin
shinynewapple21 · 22/06/2021 15:57

As others have said. Pip is a Nick name .

Mamamamasaurus · 22/06/2021 16:02

You're inviting a life of ridicule and bullying by choosing any of these names. Give your head a wobble.

Stichintime · 22/06/2021 16:03

Know someone who named her child Zebedee, cos she was so cool. Kid known a Zebby. The most anxious, wet kid you could ever meet.
