Fox for a boy? Thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Warmduscher · 09/05/2021 11:40

It’s not a name, so no.

Have you got any others you like, OP?

wanderedlonelyasacloud · 09/05/2021 11:40

Quite hipster but i think it's the type of name a child would grow into and after the first time of being introduced people would get used to it - for me it's in the same vein as wolf and bear.

Maybe just think about how it goes with your surname and how it might look on his CV when he's applying for jobs as an adult.

DancesWithTortoises · 09/05/2021 11:40

No.

Imagine - For Fox sake etc.

MummytoE · 09/05/2021 11:42

Hard pass. Xx

Orgasmagorical · 09/05/2021 11:42

SoddingWeddings · 09/05/2021 11:42

Screams X Files to a certain generation....

bestsquirrelinthewholehole · 09/05/2021 11:44

I love it, but my husband was against it, my oldest kid loved it too. We were trying to persuade him, but alas to no avail. Go for it!

YouAreTheWordsIAmTheTune · 09/05/2021 11:46

I saw a wee film clip the other day about two wee boys in IKEA and the parents of one boy called Fox and the other kid went to them! Both families thought they had the only Fox and were being unique!

toastofthetown · 09/05/2021 11:46

Not a fan personally. It is painfully trendy to me, and I think it will end up as fast fashion name. It's risen dramatically from very low use to almost 100 babies, and I think it will fall just as quickly in a few years.

YouAreTheWordsIAmTheTune · 09/05/2021 11:47

called OUT Fox

SoMuchForSummerLove · 09/05/2021 11:52

It's a bit 'check us out we're so edgy and hipster'

Limegreens · 09/05/2021 11:55

Ridiculous Grin.

MimiDaisy11 · 09/05/2021 12:01

It's probably a generational thing but it makes me think of the X-Files.
It's a bit too out there for me to use but I don't mind it.

dannydyerismydad · 09/05/2021 12:08

I know 3. It's quite popular locally.

MyCatIsADentist · 09/05/2021 12:12

It’s having a bit of a moment, isn’t it? I know two Foxes born this year, a boy and a girl. Personally it’s really not to my taste - not a proper name, not a nice sound, not nice connotations. But I’m clearly a bit old fashioned about things like this since it is becoming more popular!

RaraRachael · 09/05/2021 12:13

@Limegreens

Ridiculous Grin.
This, precisely.

Fox is not a name. Poor kid Sad

randomer · 09/05/2021 12:16

Stoat?

HeeHawSeeSaw · 09/05/2021 12:16

Imagine when you go clothes shopping for him -lets get Fox's socks Smile

dannydyerismydad · 09/05/2021 12:18

In fact, I know 3 Foxes, a Bear and a Wolf. Animal names are very now.

PurpleRainDancer · 09/05/2021 12:18

Mulder?

Notaroadrunner · 09/05/2021 12:19

I agree, it's ridiculous.

SappysCurry · 09/05/2021 12:19

I think Wolf is better

PurpleRainDancer · 09/05/2021 12:20

@HeeHawSeeSaw

Imagine when you go clothes shopping for him -lets get Fox's socks Smile
Sounds like the title of a children’s book Grin
SappysCurry · 09/05/2021 12:20

Or Badger (like Breaking Bad)

Jabba2020 · 09/05/2021 12:21

Badger?
