Hi!
What names did you love but just weren't brave enough to use?

DS’s name is on this thread. I can honestly say it never occurred to me that naming him this required ‘courage’ from either of us.

And I know quite a few children with other names listed — Miles, Summer, Water, Humphrey, Astrid, Ptolemy, Thomasine, Willow, Plum.

(Plum is a brat, though...)

@Mammaaof I have always loved the name Brie and don't think it's that out there. :)

@holibay I think it's the spelling most people mis spell her name spelling it "Bree" and always ask me if her name is short for Brianna x

Jason

DH rejected it "because it's a dog name. "

I'm so glad he did.

My children's names are on this thread, I don't think they required any bravery.

Balonz would be a brave name. Well some sort of name anyway.

@HearMeSnore

Persephone and Raphael.

I'll use them eventually, even if only for guinea pigs.

Er... good decision.

@Enko, are you a big opera fan? I used to work in the same company as a woman named Aida. Everyone pronounced her name as Ay-duh rather than Eye-ee-duh. The first time I worked with her, I asked her if it was pronounced like the opera, and she said, all forlornly, that yes it was. She was just too shy to correct anyone. Both my daughters are named after characters from opera.

I’ve never heard of a dog called Jason!! xD

I love Meadow, which was listed on the first page, and Persephone. We went with quite an unusual name so lots of these seem quite normal to me!

@2bazookas no need to be rude. It's suits her and wouldn't want to be a sheep and call her something common. She was actually named after the famous wrestler Brie Bella.

Water???

I'm also assuming you're quite posh. You can get away with less typical names of you're posh compared to being wc

@TheVanguardSix

Isambard and Scheherazade

I do wanted Isambard. DS was always going to be Sam, but I so wanted it to be short for Isambard (I’m a civil engineer). DH convinced me it was the hormones talking, and we went for the more conventional Samuel.
