How would you pronounce the name Mila?

I do know someone with a little girl called Mila and when she announced it on Fb she said it was pronounced Meela, so when I see it written on her fb it's meela, everywhere else I go straight to myla.

Myla - because Mila looks like Lila (Lyla) so I’d assume they’d rhyme

Doesn't that make it May-la, if you spell it like that? I automatically think My-la but it's surged in popularity lately so I'm aware now that when I see this name it's probably pronounced Mee-la. I think you should use the normal spelling if you like the name, I think most people will get it right. The newborn in the bed next to me at the hospital was called Mila :-)

There was a girl at the children’s centre called Mila pronounced Miller so I’m not sure there is a ‘way’ to pronounce it. Your new suggested spelling of Meila is even more Myla! /ei/ for me is like heist.

I would say Miller too. I only know one Mila and that’s how she says it.
