Eloise?

Hi, both me and DH like Eloise - seems very classy and elegant yet not relatively common. What do people think of it? Our other DD is Josephine Iris (nn Josie) and are using Charlotte for the middle name of DD2. Thank you

I don’t like it, personally. It’s very eighties.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 16/09/2020 20:47

I neither like nor dislike it.

mcgonagalscat · 16/09/2020 20:48

I think that it is a really beautiful name, much prefer it to Louise and I think it goes perfectly with Josie!

DramaAlpaca · 16/09/2020 20:49

Well, I think it's a gorgeous name.

wanders off, singing the eponymous song by The Damned

Cissyandflora · 16/09/2020 20:51

Love it because of the song. We also know a lovely child with the name.

Reader1984 · 16/09/2020 20:52

Lovely name

HollyHocks13 · 16/09/2020 20:52

Beautiful name and it goes so well with Josephine - 2 very pretty french names ❤️

Cissyandflora · 16/09/2020 20:55

She is like the stars that please the night

augustusglupe · 16/09/2020 20:58

I think of the Damned song, I love it OP. Beautiful and a little different.

Elmo230885 · 16/09/2020 21:00

There's a few near me. I find it a strange name. I like how it sounds but don't like how it looks written down.

augustusglupe · 16/09/2020 21:00

Cissyandflora Like minds Wink

Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 16/09/2020 21:01

Yes elegant in a formal French kinda way.

MikeUniformMike · 16/09/2020 21:02

It's ok. I prefer Louise and Louisa. The song puts me off.
It's yet another Ellie type name.

Onekidnoclue · 16/09/2020 21:04

Oh I love it. Not common but not weird. Great name.

Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 16/09/2020 21:05

Also Heloise is nice and even more unusual, and a great nod French literature if that is your bag (although would probably always still be spelled Eloise or Elouise).

Disfordarkchocolate · 16/09/2020 21:05

I think is extremely lovely. Great song too.

Topseyt · 16/09/2020 21:06

I love Eloise. I find it elegant, classy and timeless.

purpleme12 · 16/09/2020 21:09

Eloise is the best name 🥰

MintCassis · 16/09/2020 21:11

Love it! I always think of the Eloise children’s books 🙂

BluebellsareBlue · 16/09/2020 21:12

It's beautiful x

nevergoingoutagain · 16/09/2020 21:14

I like it. I also have a Josephine and I think it goes very well. It's not that common either which would tick my main box!

BlueDream · 16/09/2020 21:15

I only don't like it because a slag at uni called Eloise shagged everyone's boyfriends, giving the last of them crabs. Confused

purpleme12 · 16/09/2020 21:16

Lovely story!

MagnoliatheMagnificent · 16/09/2020 21:16

One of my favourites. I love Josephine too - it's my Mums name and Dd's middle name.

Cissyandflora · 16/09/2020 21:18

So did she catch crabs from the second from last one?
