Eloise?

Hi, both me and DH like Eloise - seems very classy and elegant yet not relatively common. What do people think of it? Our other DD is Josephine Iris (nn Josie) and are using Charlotte for the middle name of DD2. Thank you

Like it. Makes me think of the children's books.

I adore it, it was the name my daughter would've had if we hadn't named her Rebecca. There's so many shortenings for her to use at different phases of her life too should she wish too x

Mrsfussypants1 · 17/09/2020 10:34

I love it, our 25yr old daughter loves it even more, it's her name! If you like it go for it I say, I never give my opinion on friends name choices as each to their own.

Exactly Don't really understand why we have the baby name section cos they'll always be people who don't like the name you choose But I had to comment on here cos it's the best name ❤️

Lovely

itsjakeandamy · 17/09/2020 12:40

I'm not keen. All the ones I know are not at all classy so I guess they have tainted the name for me. I much prefer Louisa (though not Louise, way too 70s) or Elodie.

purpleme12 · 17/09/2020 12:42

People do make me laugh with their expectations of how that person should be if they've got that name!

AgentCooper · 17/09/2020 12:44

I think it’s a great name! Those of you who loved the Damned song, check out the original in French by Claude François - it’s BRILLIANT.

purpleme12 · 17/09/2020 12:47

Oooh I will check that out.
Although to be honest I'm not a fan of the song by the Damned but it's good to have a song name after my daughter!
(I know it's not really!)

Quercus3 · 17/09/2020 12:56

Eloise is lovely. Fantastic choice with Josephine too, you have lovely taste.

tryingharder92 · 17/09/2020 13:05

Very dated in my opinion. Louisa is much nicer I think

Spied · 17/09/2020 13:06

Lovely

AvonCallingBarksdale · 17/09/2020 13:06

Lovely name

Cissyandflora · 17/09/2020 16:11

I didn’t know the Damned cover. I’m old

LynetteScavo · 17/09/2020 18:35

It's a lovely name!

I didn't use it for DD because it can sound like Elo-wheeze.

Enko · 18/09/2020 13:49

I prefer Eloisa personally

MikeUniformMike · 18/09/2020 20:52

@AgentCooper, watched it, and it's good.
He says it El-o-eez not El-ow-eez and it's so much prettier said that way.

I need a 1960s dancing outfit.

Reste - Beggin'

My mind is boggled.

Thank you agent!

emilybrontescorsett · 19/09/2020 00:07

I really like it.

SmartPinkShoes · 19/09/2020 00:20

Gorgeous name. And just to add to the liklihood of an Elouise having a song sung at her, here's Elouise by Brian Deady

wishing3 · 19/09/2020 00:22

Beautiful!

purpleme12 · 19/09/2020 00:26

@SmartPinkShoes it's spelt Eloise

LadyEloise · 19/09/2020 00:46

I love it - well I would do Smile
I also love Annalise.

mathanxiety · 19/09/2020 01:08

I prefer Louisa. I think it goes much better with Josephine.

Eloise gets shortened to Ellie around here, along with all the other EL names. There are hundreds of them.

SmartPinkShoes · 19/09/2020 01:19

Lol. Course it is! Blame the wine and fat fingers. And singing along to the song while typing badly Blush

Heh1991 · 19/09/2020 01:43

I think it’s really pretty!
