Brazil?

Thoughts on “Brazil” for a baby girl? No middle name, as Brazil in itself is kinda “out there” and uncommon, I think a middle name would be overkill. I hated it when my boyfriend mentioned it originally, but it’s actually grown on me. I know a ton of London’s, Asia’s, Ireland’s, etc.

Awful.

Pipandmum · 22/08/2020 18:00

No.

Pipandmum · 22/08/2020 18:01

Rio I like though.

Nut would work nicely.

theconstantinoplegardener · 22/08/2020 18:01

As in a Brazilian bikini wax?

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 22/08/2020 18:03

Bikini wax and nuts are what spring to mind!

KitKatastrophe · 22/08/2020 18:04

My thought too, sorry
reefedsail · 22/08/2020 18:07

OMG you are not serious?? Rio maybe.

XGOLDEN · 22/08/2020 18:09

I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go with it anyway lol. I like the idea of my little girl being named after a beautiful place but I don’t want something that a million other kids have. :-/

Rio sounds like a boy’s name to me. Or a pet

You're naming a human, perhaps you and boyfriend should grow up and remember that.

Oneandabean · 22/08/2020 18:12

Awful, sounds like a stripper, there’s potential for lots of teasing with nut and especially wax

angelofthelight · 22/08/2020 18:13

Your poor kid at school getting picked on because mummy thought it was a "cool" name.

lovelymm · 22/08/2020 18:15

Terrible! 😂😂😂

daisypond · 22/08/2020 18:16

Do you have links to the country? Are you Brazilian? That’s the only circumstance in which I think it might be vaguely acceptable. It’s usually not.

Unescorted · 22/08/2020 18:16

Country, bikini lines, nuts or coffee - perfect. Not a person - who presumably you love.

Luckingfovely · 22/08/2020 18:17

I totally get wanting an out-there name, but Brazil has some really unfortunate connotations which I really don't think you should want to inflict on your child.

Get out an atlas and find something else wacky that doesn't mean nuts or bikini waxes!

reefedsail · 22/08/2020 18:18

Poor kid Sad

isabellerossignol · 22/08/2020 18:18

I have no words.

Oh, actually I do. And those words are 'no' and 'what are you thinking?'

I’m assuming you have a common/ snooze fest of a name and your children do as well? Lol. Thanks for your input, dear.

I like the Brasil spelling a lot more tbh

Unescorted · 22/08/2020 18:21

There are many beautiful places in the world that in their English form are not also names for male genitalia by one degree of separation and a pubic wax.

june2007 · 22/08/2020 18:21

It,s awful. What will it be for short Bra?

Thisismytimetoshine · 22/08/2020 18:22

Why am I not surprised? You sound the type, with your snoozefest nonsense 🙄
