HELP NAMING TWINS!!!

sockieA · 21/07/2020 16:26

Me and my DH are expecting twins in November and desperately need help choosing names as we are horrific at thinking of names. We want the names to be meaningful to us and not just sound pretty but it's quite hard to do! Here's what we've got so far

DD -
Scout
Birdie
Luna
Star

DS -
Blue
Sparrow
Knox
Xavier

Any opinions or suggestions??

Not sure on suggestions as I don’t know what will mean anything to you. All I’d say is I can’t see any of those names ‘going’ together. Calling Birdie and Sparrow to come in from the garden sure as heck will confuse the neighbours!

Thistlegirl4 · 21/07/2020 16:33

Scout and Knox are my favourites from your lists.

LovingLola · 21/07/2020 16:35

Twins again 🙄

Jilljams · 21/07/2020 16:36

It’s got to be birdie and sparrow

flooredbored · 21/07/2020 16:37

TBH not keen on any of them. Blue, Sparrow, Star and Birdie are all pretty terrible imo.

Is it a nature theme? Do you want names that relate to a particular place? It's a bit difficult to make suggestions without a few more details.

SweatyAndyFromWoking · 21/07/2020 16:37

What's meaningful about obscure names which are the same as various celeb kids?

DoTheMaccaroni · 21/07/2020 16:40

I only don’t like Birdie. But as a pp says, how can we suggest names if we don’t know what’s meaningful to you? My daughter has a beautiful name that we found from a show we love!

sockieA · 21/07/2020 16:41

Me and my husband travel all of the time due to his job (it's how we met) and so we are trying to think of names to do with that. So nature and things similar although we don't want place names!

Total honesty here - I think they are all truly horrid!

Hippofrog · 21/07/2020 16:44

It’s got to be Sparrow and Birdie.

EssentialHummus · 21/07/2020 16:46

Knox and Scout/Star, I’d say.

Riv12345 · 21/07/2020 16:47

Scout for a girl is very pretty

I know a

Rainbow
Lilac
Bluebell
Rumer

Abit our there but still pretty

Not sure about a boys name tbh

Riv12345 · 21/07/2020 16:48

Personally I wouldn't go for

Sparrow and birdie

Parker231 · 21/07/2020 16:51

I’ve never heard of any of them. I have DT’s - like any parent we gave them names we liked but I don’t recognise any of your list.

dobbyssoc · 21/07/2020 16:54

There are lots of nature names that aren't those and considered more mainstream.
Think of it as your child is having to live with that name throughout their whole schooling life and to put on CVs etc.
Birdie and Sparrow are ridiculous!

TinySleepThief · 21/07/2020 16:54

If you want names to do with travel then why not use famous explorers instead?

mamaoffourdc · 21/07/2020 16:54

Xavier and birdie

The4ks · 21/07/2020 16:57

Love Luna and Xavier.

Astrid or Iris?

Sonny or Gabriel?

LesLavandes · 21/07/2020 16:58

Oh my. Words fail me. Your children have to live with these names. Do you want them to be laughed at at school. Awful

Soubriquet · 21/07/2020 16:59

What about Bridie instead of Birdie...which is stupid

Blue- No

What about Ocean names for travelling?

Aqua
Delta
Briony
Marina

BellaVida · 21/07/2020 17:00

I think the only ones I would even consider from your list are Xavier, Knox and possibly Luna.

What do they need to link to? Night, bird names, something else? If so what about
Stella/ Estelle
Aster/ Astra
Celeste
Selena
Leila
Ava/ Aya
Paloma
Linette
Dove

Orion
Archer
Zeke
Phoenix
Jay
Corbin
Altair
Culver

Soubriquet · 21/07/2020 17:02

these are all travelling names

I love Saira, which means Traveler in Urdu

Riv12345 · 21/07/2020 17:05

Also Raine for a girl (Rain)

Riv12345 · 21/07/2020 17:07

Ocean nice for girl

I love chatting about names
I've always have done since I was little 😌

userabcname · 21/07/2020 17:10

I like Luna and Xavier from your lists. I also like Celeste as suggested by a pp. Related to travel - Atlas?
