HELP NAMING TWINS!!!

sockieA · 21/07/2020 16:26

Me and my DH are expecting twins in November and desperately need help choosing names as we are horrific at thinking of names. We want the names to be meaningful to us and not just sound pretty but it's quite hard to do! Here's what we've got so far

DD -
Scout
Birdie
Luna
Star

DS -
Blue
Sparrow
Knox
Xavier

Any opinions or suggestions??

Rowan, Dale, Heath, Ashley (Ash) Glenn. All nature names. Wouldn’t be my choice but they are proper names that won’t be thought ridiculous. Another girl one - Jasmine.

You cannot call a child birdie or sparrow, birdie will always be called bird.
Xavier is just pretty common. Knox reminds me of Amanda Knox, wasnt she that apparent high profile murderer?

Ocean, Rain, storm, Atlanta, venus, river? Probs all very common now, what about classics like Jane and Peter Smile

Oceana, Kaia, Gali for the girl's name?
Caspian, Raffety, Alon for the boy's name?
These all derive from the sea btw.
I love unusual names!

Good luck xx

So OP what do you think?

I do hope this thread is genuine

micc · 22/07/2020 08:52

Love all of them:)

What about Luna and Nova?
I know that Nova can be boys or girls, more popular is easten Europe as a boys name.

I love Luna so maybe another space/star inspired name for the boy?

Apollo ?
Orion ?

FeedMeSantiago · 22/07/2020 12:19

Is Birdie a typo for Bridie?

Regardless, Luna and Xavier on the grounds that they are established names, and whilst Bridie (if you meant Bridie and not Birdie) is an actual name - I know two - Luna is a nicer name.

starkid · 22/07/2020 14:00

Luna and Xavier yes, the rest a big no no from me

Yutes · 22/07/2020 14:14

Bauer

“ we are horrific at thinking of names”

Yeah.

Cheerfullygo4 · 22/07/2020 16:41

Luna and Knox

The OP hasn't come back so I'm gonna assume (and hope!Blush) that this thread is a wind-up.

Ellmau · 22/07/2020 16:49

Most of them sound like pet names to be honest.

What about:
Boys:
Peregrine - means wanderer/traveller/pilgrim, plus the bird
Ferdinand: traveller meaning
Ulysses
Moses

Girls:
Linnet
Marina - sea meaning
Romana

@sockieA

Me and my husband travel all of the time due to his job (it's how we met) and so we are trying to think of names to do with that. So nature and things similar although we don't want place names!
Going with the travel theme

Google (girl) and Maps (boy)

Giganticshark · 23/07/2020 05:24

Ohhh Briony is beautiful!!!! I actually like Blue.

Giganticshark · 23/07/2020 05:26

Fox is a fab name. You have to be pretty cool to pass it off though.
