HELP NAMING TWINS!!!

sockieA · 21/07/2020 16:26

Me and my DH are expecting twins in November and desperately need help choosing names as we are horrific at thinking of names. We want the names to be meaningful to us and not just sound pretty but it's quite hard to do! Here's what we've got so far

DD -
Scout
Birdie
Luna
Star

DS -
Blue
Sparrow
Knox
Xavier

Any opinions or suggestions??

I’d use Luna, and then either Knox or Xavier

tara66 · 21/07/2020 17:13

OP - do you honestly think a grown man would want to be called 'sparrow'? I do not.
They are not going to stay babies forever .

dollypops15 · 21/07/2020 17:13

Not keen on Birdie. But love Knox and Scout. They were on my list too x

Poppyismyfavourite · 21/07/2020 17:19

Well the only ones that are actually names are luna and xavier... They are OK.

user58 · 21/07/2020 17:20

I think it's time to go back to the drawing board because all of these "names" are hideous! Confused

Poppyismyfavourite · 21/07/2020 17:20

Imagine them being prime minister or the headmistress of a school or a CEO with these names?

Sillydoggy · 21/07/2020 17:20

I say it every time I see a twin naming chat- don’t give them names starting with the same initial because it creates havoc with your paperwork! This applies to nicknames as well if a shortened name sticks.

caffelatte100 · 21/07/2020 17:21

I think OP is having a laugh!

Fazz44 · 21/07/2020 17:22

Love Xavier & Luna together StarStar

BellaVida · 21/07/2020 17:26

Sorry, just read your update. If you are looking for travel related names, I guess it’s either place/ landmark names like India, Atlanta, Savannah, Brooklyn, Paris etc or ones that mean traveller, voyager like Beatrix, Peregrine, Ferdinand, Nestor. I can’t think of any more at the moment.

DoTheMaccaroni · 21/07/2020 17:27

@Riv12345 same here. I’ve always been obsessed with names since I was little! Used to ask EVERYBODY what their middle name was after they told me their first! 🤣

captainraymondholt · 21/07/2020 17:31

Luna and Xavier would be my favourites. I think they sound gorgeous together.

Oh wow!!
I use to ask the teachers there real names as well 😂
So pleased someone else is obsessed with names.

Cam2020 · 21/07/2020 17:31

Ara, Celeste, Sierra, Selena, Terra, Gaia for girls?

River, Aaron, Jay, Jonah for a boy?

andadietcoke · 21/07/2020 17:33

Avoid the same first initial - makes things harder for post and doctor surgery checking in etc.

Lotsalotsagiggles · 21/07/2020 17:33

Luna and Knox get my vote

vampirethriller · 21/07/2020 17:33

Fort and Knox

sunrainwind · 21/07/2020 17:35

Luna and Xavier are the only passable ones (Xavier is a good name).

user1493494961 · 21/07/2020 17:39

Birdie and Sparrow are great, or you could go for a Mumsnet favourite and have Wren and Sparrow.

DotForShort · 21/07/2020 17:50

What about the name Opportunity for a girl? That would go well with Knox.

CommunistLegoBloc · 21/07/2020 17:51

Every bugger and their dog seems to be having twins at the moment.

How about Fox and Socks?

CommunistLegoBloc · 21/07/2020 17:51

@DotForShort BRILLIANT

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 21/07/2020 17:58

I'm not keen on any of them and I think some of them are almost guaranteed to make your kid subject to ridicule (birdie and sparrow being the worst offenders.)

947EliseChalotte · 21/07/2020 18:01

Birdie and sparrrow
What about Robyn?

Bl0ndi3 · 21/07/2020 18:09

Why are some people so rude on these baby names threads. There is a nice way of saying you're not a fan of the names but I think you would do better to just suggest other alternatives rather than tear downs the names OP clearly likes whether they are to your taste or not.

Just a thought people, be kind!
