Not sure what we're having yet but think if its a boy will be either Leigho or Leaveiye.
Which do like best?

Also on our list:
Shadoe
Frankelyn
Chayse
Loquelin
Daevyd

Will do a girls one when narrowed down. XXXOOOBear

@LittleLeaps, don’t do it, that would be pronounced Kseventlyn and you’d just feel silly...

VenusTiger · 26/05/2020 21:22

Honestly though, you won’t come across as a mum who wanted their children to be individual. You will come across as an attention seeker who is poorly educated and can’t spell

tbf, that's evident in the OP's posts with great full instead of grateful, to instead of too and there instead of their.

I find it bad enough having to spell my surname (married name) about half a dozen bloody times on the phone to literally everyone, as it's a typical Irish name spelled differently - it's annoying - why do it if it sounds the same when spoken? It's just a complication both you (when teaching your child how to spell their name, and how to spell it's original spelling of it) and your child don't need.

EveryoneLoves09876 · 26/05/2020 21:22

Not my style but Loquelin?

EveryoneLoves09876 · 26/05/2020 21:22

Really sorry op but don't think your names will go down well with mumsnet crowd.

EveryoneLoves09876 · 26/05/2020 21:23

It doesn't look great:/

rosegoldwatcher · 26/05/2020 21:23

@FlamingoAndJohn - we, her teachers, downplayed the 'shark' syllable and referred to her as Shackia - but the damage was done!

OP - are your pregnancy hormones playing a part here do you think? I tried my utmost to persuade my DP to let me name my second born Benoit (a noble Gallic name pronounced Benwar.) He pointed out the likelihood of him being known throughout his very English schooling as Benoyt (not a good sound!) We called him Harry.

LittleLeaps · 26/05/2020 21:26

@Sunbird24 ah yes so it would 😂 that would be very silly indeed

WeeMadArthur · 26/05/2020 21:27

Balonz for a boy, Slithery for a girl.

IHateCoronavirus · 26/05/2020 21:29

I am getting the Balonz reference but Slithery is going over my head! Can someone fill me in on what I missed please?

Zaphodsotherhead · 26/05/2020 21:36

In the throes of pregnancy I desperately wanted my firstborn son to be called Xavier, pronounced the proper way (Haviyeh).

He's called Tom.

EmpressLangClegInChair · 26/05/2020 21:39
@EmpressLangClegInChair no. That's just hugs and kisses lol.
Oh I see. I couldn’t decide if it was a name or a game of noughts & crosses.

SirGawain · 26/05/2020 21:40

I would use all of them in that order. Choosing only a couple might expose you child to ridicule in school.

FurloughedFedUp · 26/05/2020 21:42

I'd be tempted to go Lee/yo instead. Not enough slashes in names and it must be due a revival.

On a similar theme you could have Day/vide, Josh/uarrr or Peet/terr. All classic names with a twist.

FluffyPinkSocks · 26/05/2020 21:43

How about good old Gary?

EKGEMS · 26/05/2020 21:43

Uniquely spelled names means having to spell out their names constantly and having it mispronounced forever and never finding anything at the store personalized with their name.

FiveToFour · 26/05/2020 21:44

@rosegoldwatcher ,my daughter was at nursery and primary school with a boy called Benoit! It didn't seem to cause any problems at that stage.(His Mum was French, not sure if that was relevant at all!)

kahronah · 26/05/2020 21:45

@EKGEMS Etsy. Customise with their name. I don't want any of that rubbish land fill lol.

Not my style OP...I find it 'wet' to be fair...but I'm sure you'd pull it off as it's SO popular on MN right now...
