Do you like the name Seven for a girl?

My husband and I are curious as to how the first name Seven would be for a girl. The number is significant to us biblically and means the number of completeness, as she will be completing our family. There are many other reasons behind Seven.

Is it too out there, or is it cool?

Thanks for any input! Smile

If you're an upper class eccentric socialite, go ahead!

CAcHET!!

I assumed david Beckham played number 7?

ParsleyPot · 31/12/2019 09:34

No to Seven, no to Teal

A hesitant yes to Gemma if it's the best you can think of.

I prefer:
Alexandra
Bryony
Caroline
Elizabeth
Fiona
Fenella
Gabriella
Helena
Imogen
Julia
Katherine
Lucinda
Marianne
Penelope
Rachel
Saskia
Susannah
Tabitha
Veronica
Zara

Teal and Gemma are both nice. Teal is definitely quite hippyish - whereas Gemma is more classic, which vibe you'd prefer is up to you.

Seven is a definite no, as pp have said, giving people numbers rather than names is a way of dehumanising them

Yes, that's one of the reasons why they used Seven as Harper's middle name.

"He added that while most people had assumed the name Seven was a reference to his shirt number at Manchester United, he said that was only part of the reason.

"The main reason behind Seven was it symbolises spiritual perfection – the seven wonders of the world, the seven colours of the rainbow – and in many cultures it is a lucky number.

Lucky he didn’t play ‘TwentyThree’

Tombliwho · 31/12/2019 10:07

What do you have against actual names rather than colours and numbers?!

needsahouseboy · 31/12/2019 10:07

Really horrible murder film

ginandgingers92 · 31/12/2019 10:08

Makes me think of Eleven from Stranger Things...

Engard · 31/12/2019 22:08

It's too "Stranger Things" where children are given a name

CruCru · 01/01/2020 15:50

Gemma is nice - I've met a couple in their twenties and they were nice people.

Teal isn't to my taste.

CaramelMama · 01/01/2020 17:50

Its a lovely name, regardless of it been a number if its personal to you go for it. I quite like it, my mum had 7 kids so would have quite suited the last one.

MotherOfAllChristmases · 01/01/2020 17:51

Serren is nicer. Imo.

Ohyesiam · 01/01/2020 17:53

You might do better thinking about the experience of the child, rather than what is significant for you.

CosmoK · 01/01/2020 18:10

inanothertime I think of that Seinfeld clip every time I see a ridiculous name thread on here 🤣

BecauseReasons · 01/01/2020 18:35

I'm sure someone's suggested this, and I've just missed it, but here's 138 names meaning 'complete'. You have to scroll down a bit too find the list though.

Blossom’s best friend was called Six

That was the number of beers it took for her father to have sex with her mother 😂

nowaypose · 03/01/2020 15:14

No, it’s a number. Is this inspired by the Beckham’s daughter? It is at least her middle name rather than first.

Buttercup54321 · 05/01/2020 00:09

It is a number not a name. Just as well call her Sunday or Sabbath.
Choose a proper name the poor kid wont be embarrassed by.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/01/2020 00:11

Sunday is a lovely girl's name imo.
