Do you like the name Seven for a girl?

My husband and I are curious as to how the first name Seven would be for a girl. The number is significant to us biblically and means the number of completeness, as she will be completing our family. There are many other reasons behind Seven.

Is it too out there, or is it cool?

Thanks for any input! Smile

I really like it but she will get teased!
A joke doing the rounds with the kids: Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 7 8 9!

YearofMisAdventure · 30/12/2019 08:02

I also think of Seven of Nine (Star Trek character). I like Seren though.

Newmetoday · 30/12/2019 08:03

Stupid name. Don’t do it.

Aus84 · 30/12/2019 08:06

Oh god no. Reminds me of Seinfeld. Why would you do that to a child???

Mumma4262 · 30/12/2019 08:08

Really don’t like it.

Love Seren and that’s similar to look at/pronounce, and it’s an actual name.

Santasleftboot · 30/12/2019 08:08

What Newmetoday said^

On a more serious note, the name which is derived from seven is Septima / Septimus, as an earlier poster said. Using Seven instead just makes you look a bit ignorant I’m afraid.

exLtEveDallas · 30/12/2019 08:09

A horrible, sexist old joke:

“Why are you called Seven?”
“That’s how many shots it took to get my mum into bed”

Dozer · 30/12/2019 08:09

Serial killer film in the 90s

GaaaaarlicBread · 30/12/2019 08:10

I wouldn’t use it but if it’s got meaning to you then why not ? Maybe use a different version of it so like Greek being Epta , or Spanish Sette . Just an example x

Jellybeansincognito · 30/12/2019 08:12

Imagine the 7/8/9 jokes.

Namenic · 30/12/2019 08:12

No

I love what prettypurple feather said

Absolutely no

AvengingGerbil · 30/12/2019 08:16

Every Strictly fan will do a Len Goodman impression and say ‘SeVEEEEERN’ (in their heads if they are polite, out loud if not....)

Aerielview · 30/12/2019 08:17

It's a number, not a name. You say that the number has biblical significance for you - there are many beautiful names in the Bible that you could choose from instead

rainbowstardrops · 30/12/2019 08:18

I like it but not sure I'd be brave enough to use it as a first name. Middle name definitely.

Bluerussian · 30/12/2019 08:19

No

Elindab · 30/12/2019 08:20

No.

Aposterhasnoname · 30/12/2019 08:20

I like it.

lovelyupnorth · 30/12/2019 08:20

No. Think of the children.

Ceejly · 30/12/2019 08:22

Bad idea. How about the French name Séverine? Pronounced -Sev-eh-reen- thn Seven could be a nickname.

Equanimitas · 30/12/2019 08:22

Remember The Prisoner? "I am not a number, I'm a free man!"

Don't do it to her.

hidinginthenightgarden · 30/12/2019 08:24

I think people are being a bit harsh but it probably isn't a good idea.
Seren is close but I also think the numer in another language would work.

Posieandjosie · 30/12/2019 08:25

I like the sound of it and spelling but the fact it’s a number is a no.
Really puts paid to ‘I’m not a number’

ElizabethMainwaring · 30/12/2019 08:26
