I love this name for a girl. DP is coming round to it as well. DM loves it.
But I'm constantly getting bad reactions from friends - enough to have slightly put me off every time.

I appreciate that it's a bit out there but I just think it's gorgeous.

Anyone else out there agreeing with me? Or should I stay put off?

Not a fan. Sorry.

june2007 · 06/11/2019 23:50

No people will just say there history

LauraPalmersBodybag · 06/11/2019 23:51

I like a lot of left field names but don’t like this at all, sorry op. It doesn’t present as a name to me.

NoHummus · 06/11/2019 23:51

It's not a name, it's just a random word. You might as well call your kid Hippo or Lightbulb or Desert.

VanyaHargreeves · 06/11/2019 23:54

I think if someone told me their child was called Story, I'd ask them to repeat it at least twice certain I'd misheard, it's a very Kardashian name very much in the same bracket as Dream, True, Psalm etc

CherryBathBomb · 06/11/2019 23:54

Cool story bro Wink
Sorry couldn't help it!

Bunnyfuller · 06/11/2019 23:55

Nope.

DramaAlpaca · 07/11/2019 00:19

I really think you should stay put off. Sorry.

clpsmum · 07/11/2019 00:24

I like it!

dolphin50 · 07/11/2019 00:26

i love the name, story. it is gorgeous. go for it. its your baby. dont go for a name you dont like to satisfy others. all names start somewhere and story sounds really sweet. pretty and creative. the name for girls comes up on baby name websites so you are not the first to have thought of it.

FluffyAlpaca19 · 07/11/2019 02:22

It's story time..... Or let's sit down for a story..... Rosie, which story book have you chosen today?

Story is not a name, you're setting up you child for a lifetime of sarcastic comments & bullying by choosing the word for its name.

Makesmilingyourbesthobby · 07/11/2019 02:39

It’s so out there to me I don’t know if I like it or not...
I also think it’s the American way for spelling storey as in a story building so potential teasing about buildings as well as books which is the first reason I’d think no
I’m also put off to the way it’s spelt don’t like the look of the word with them letters for a name if that makes sense
I think its a cute word when spoken but don’t know how I feel about it as a child’s name
As others have said it’s your child give her a name you guys like and one you feel she will be happy with too and congrats

BonBon411 · 07/11/2019 02:42

Yikes!

VaselineHero · 07/11/2019 02:49

I wouldn't use it. Aaron Paul's (Jesse from Breaking Bad) daughter is called Story - only person I've heard with the name.

HappyDinosaur · 07/11/2019 03:23

No, this is not a name to use for your child, it wouldn't be fair.

NameChangedNoImagination · 07/11/2019 03:54

I'm a right weirdo and even I think it's too out there. Use it as a middle name and give her a semi-sensible first name so at least she can choose, even if you call her Story day to day.

MrsFoxPlus4Again · 07/11/2019 04:12

I don’t hate it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think it’s a name I could warm to

lljkk · 07/11/2019 04:14

Nooooooooooooo
I can embrace a lot of 'weird' names; this is not one of them.

Mollpop · 07/11/2019 05:11

It's not a name and it's dreadful.

custardbear · 07/11/2019 05:21

It's not a name.

mathanxiety · 07/11/2019 05:38

Stay put off.

There are millions of actual names out there.

MrsBertBibby · 07/11/2019 06:55

It's appalling.

SalemsMumHasGotitGoingOn · 07/11/2019 06:58

I love it! It's not weird, it's beautiful.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 07/11/2019 07:05

It's a noun, but not a proper one. Not a name for a human.
