Don’t really like either but between the two I’d go for Roman

ClaraThePigeon · 11/09/2019 15:57

I love Roman. Bodhi is awful.

Grasspigeons · 11/09/2019 15:59

Roman
Not keen on bodhi

Boysey45 · 11/09/2019 16:00

Roman, Bodhi beyond dreadful and everyone will be saying were you a fan of the Professionals.

MikeUniformMike · 11/09/2019 16:15

Don't like either but Roman is the least bad.

elliex1 · 11/09/2019 17:09

Honestly they both seem a bit faddy to me, and that’s coming from someone who tends to like ‘trendy’ names.
Agree with PPs that Roman is the best out of the two. Definitely not Bodhi x

LarkDescending · 11/09/2019 17:10

Of the two, definitely, Roman.

MrsBertBibby · 11/09/2019 17:27

Roman. Bodhi is fast be coming a joke name, surely?

MissHenty · 11/09/2019 17:28

@Geebee123 OP are you bothered about popularity? Because Roman has really exploded in popularity the past couple of years (I think there’s a famous YouTuber and a famous DJ both called Roman so that could explain it). Anyway Roman used to be outside the top 600 names 15 years ago and is now about to enter the top 50 and showing no signs of slowing. With growth like that, it’s likely your DS will know other Romans in their class or school (particularly his age or younger given the names current trajectory). I think RoMan could be a bit of a FAD name/name that will age. Could be the next generations Darren/Nigel

Bodhi on the other hand is much less used. Currently number 188 on the charts but it’s popularity is now slowly falling year on year.

Obviously no guarantee with any name there won’t be others in class or school but Bodhi is much more unique

MissHenty · 11/09/2019 17:30

@MrsBertBibby Bodhi a joke name?? It’s currently 188 on the charts for uk baby names. Honestly I think we are sometimes a bit out of touch on Mumsnet. I remember a couple of years back people calling Albert a total whacky joke name that would only be given to a grandpa not a child.

BlackKittyKat · 11/09/2019 17:33

Boysey45 I thought of Point Break Grin
I actually like Bohdi

Loubuttonx · 11/09/2019 17:34

Roman definitely

BlackKittyKat · 11/09/2019 17:34

Or Bodhi! Blush

Sophronia · 11/09/2019 18:51

Roman Alexander

Geebee123 · 11/09/2019 18:57

Thank you for reply. Yes the fact Roman is becoming so popular does put me off...I would love to find a really usual name but I'm struggling with boys names

Out of the two, definitely Roman
I know a Romain if you want a bit of difference - he's French

GatoFofo · 11/09/2019 19:03

Bodhi is much nicer.
Roman is a bit, erm, precious sounding.

DramaAlpaca · 11/09/2019 19:05

Of the two, Roman.

Marcipex · 11/09/2019 19:05

Roman, and it’s definitely not popular around here, I have never heard of any except the cute little you tuber.

AsleepAllDay · 11/09/2019 19:07

Bodhi will have to keep spelling that out all his life

Ikeameatballs · 11/09/2019 19:07

Roman, I know one who’s top end of Primary. I like it a lot.

user1573624 · 11/09/2019 19:09

Quite different impression. I've only ever met Romans from chavvy families and the opposite for Bhodi. I like both though.

user1573624 · 11/09/2019 19:10

Oops, I mean Bodhi. Just illustrating Asleepallday's point...

user1573624 · 11/09/2019 19:14
