I really like this name. It means fertile and I like that it has a growth name meaning. Jackson means son of Jack and so Season sounds like son of the sea which I love. I also like the feeling of the seasons of your life with bringing a human being into the world. Season also sounds a bit like Caesar and I like the fact that the second S sounds a bit like a Z. For a girl I think season has a cool nature vibe too and Alison, Addison don't sound masculine so Season certainly wouldn't and it sounds a bit alternative. I've never heard of this being a name though and I wonder if anyone else has. It does come up on a baby meaning list but I hadn't heard it

i saw someone (on IG) who had named their daughter journey Confused

happyhillock · 23/06/2019 17:20

Honestly where do these stupid names comes from? wouldn't inflict in on my daughter.

MikeUniformMike · 23/06/2019 17:22

Addison sounds masculine to me and Alison is from a French form of Alice.

LittleDoritt · 23/06/2019 17:23

Hahaha. Just when you think you've seen them all.

Katebob22 · 23/06/2019 17:25

I also think of dog periods. I don’t think your child will thank you for that name

RightOnTheEdge · 23/06/2019 17:26

It's a terrible name for all the reasons already pointed out.

I know a little girl called Addison (addy) though and it suits her. I never looked at her and thought it sounded masculine.

RosemaryRemember · 23/06/2019 17:30

I'd think salt and pepper.

Disfordarkchocolate · 23/06/2019 17:32

It's not one I'd use. Seasons of life etc would make me think you were in a fundy cult.

mondaysaturday · 23/06/2019 17:33

If the "son of the sea" meaning has a lot of appeal, maybe try looking at other water/sea/ocean themed names?

There are heaps of lists out there of names that have sea-related meanings.

Topseyt · 23/06/2019 17:50

No. It's awful. Don't.

It absolutely isn't a name. It is no more a child's name than door, chair, table or lawn mower.

Try a proper name instead.

AverageMummy · 23/06/2019 18:03

‘It means fertile’ like ‘in season’ ? I’m not sure I’d want to call my baby dog period

Meline · 23/06/2019 18:06

It doesn’t mean ‘fertile’, unless you mean in the sense of animal fertility, which is reminding half of the thread of dog periods.

Personally I think it sounds like a recipe.

AverageMummy · 23/06/2019 18:07

I’m also confused why you like the idea of ‘Son of the sea’ as a girls name anyway???

AverageMummy · 23/06/2019 18:08

Hazel has a nature vibe and the sound of a Z in it - how about that?

Speakercube · 23/06/2019 18:09

Sounds like 'seize 'em'!

SallyWD · 23/06/2019 18:09

Sorry I don't like it.

TidyDancer · 23/06/2019 18:12

This is honestly one of the worst names I've ever seen on MN and I've seen some horrors in the years I've been here. Your explanation is sweet but the name is horrific. Sorry.

TurquoiseAndPurple · 23/06/2019 18:13

I really love it actually! But I fully expected the comments to be awful. This is the kinda thing that gives mumsnet a laugh unfortunately for you.

bigredvase · 23/06/2019 18:16

I'm assuming this is a joke?

cookiechomper · 23/06/2019 18:18

Horrific. Don't do it.

MadameButterface · 23/06/2019 18:22

Hahaha

I think jessa had a friend called season in an episode of Girls

She was the spoilt pretentious boho alky one so of course she did

haverhill · 23/06/2019 18:23

I also love nature and the sea but I don’t like it, sorry. There are scores of names connected with nature which are much nicer.

bigtoes · 23/06/2019 18:30

Terrible

wheelywheelynice · 23/06/2019 18:30

Just no.

Gingerkittykat · 23/06/2019 18:32

Make sure you season the steak before you cook it.......
