So, here it is, the fourth(!!!) Guessing Game baby names thread. Shock

All credit to @scotstar for creating the game, back in March 2018. Can't believe how far we've come!

Previous threads here:

1: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3189874-guessing-game

2: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3207745-Guessing-game-II

3: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3262724-Guessing-game-III?pg=1â„´=

The game is simple. Guess the name the poster is describing, then it's your turn! Make the clues as fiendish as you like. Grin

All are welcome to join in! @FintyTin, @Ladywillpower, @LadyGAgain and @DuggeeHugs, come join! (Plus others I've forgotten)

And since @Ladywillpower correctly guessed @FintyTin's last clue, this is @Ladywillpower**'s latest clue:

This old German name opened Pandora's box in 1929. Her royal connections meant that she waltzed off to one of the Channel Islands with the Doctor.

@Clettercletterthatsbetter has guessed Clara!

Great clues @Ellmau - it took me a while to remember the details!

I'm a bit rusty but here goes:

A healer from Northern Africa born of earth and sky. A night of resurrection and a name for one of the throne.

finallychangedmyusername · 13/11/2020 18:14

I keep coming back to both Jon and Adam as possible answers. I'm not convinced I'm right for either Grin but thought I'd better throw out both just in case!

OP posts:
DuggeeHugs · 13/11/2020 20:01

I'm afraid it's neither. Would you like another clue?

Ellmau · 13/11/2020 20:34

Yes please, this one is quite hard.

I'm thinking a Greek or Roman god/goddess from the earth and sky clue, but stuck there.

DuggeeHugs · 13/11/2020 22:40

You're heading in the right direction @Ellmau, although as an acronym, this mother's name dropped in popularity.

Ellmau · 13/11/2020 22:47

Oh! Is it Isis?

finallychangedmyusername · 14/11/2020 06:58

Ooh I think you're right @Ellmau!

OP posts:
DuggeeHugs · 14/11/2020 09:34

Yes, it is Isis! Egyptian godess who was adopted across the Greek and Roman worlds.

Her parents were the god of earth (Ged) and the godess of sky (Nut). After her husband Osiris is killed she resurrects him for one night.

One of the meanings of Isis is 'of the throne'

Back to you @Ellmau Smile

Ellmau · 14/11/2020 10:02

New clue:

This wood burns very brightly.

finallychangedmyusername · 15/11/2020 15:12

Ash?

OP posts:
Ellmau · 15/11/2020 15:53

No.

LadyGAgain · 16/11/2020 07:32

Amber

Ellmau · 16/11/2020 18:35

No.

Symmetry in the bunker.

finallychangedmyusername · 20/11/2020 08:00

Cole?

OP posts:
Ellmau · 23/11/2020 21:58

No.

Bit of an animal instinct.

finallychangedmyusername · 24/11/2020 23:12

Ava?

OP posts:
Ellmau · 25/11/2020 00:37

No. Starting to feel outnumbered, or perhaps the other way around.

finallychangedmyusername · 25/11/2020 08:40

Blaze? I'm really struggling with this one! Smile

OP posts:
Ellmau · 25/11/2020 19:51

No.

He came to tea once.

LadyGAgain · 26/11/2020 00:21

Tiger

Ellmau · 26/11/2020 19:33

Yes! Tiger or Tyger.

Wood was Tiger Woods - both his name and a golf clue; bunker was also to golf.

Burning bright was a reference to the poem - Tyger, Tyger burning bright - and symmetry came from that too

Animal - obvious

Outnumbered - one of the child actors

And of course, The Tiger Who Came To Tea.

finallychangedmyusername · 28/11/2020 09:02

Great clues @Ellmau and well played looking forward to the next one @LadyGAgain!

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 28/11/2020 14:34

Thank you for all the help to get there! Great clues!

I’m a bit snake like, green fingered and love to be naked.

Ellmau · 28/11/2020 17:19

Eve?

LadyGAgain · 28/11/2020 18:14

Not Eve
